It`s strange that Mozgov is saying that Anna wasn`t working hard enough. From Elena Ilinykh`s instagram post to Anna it sounded like she is a very hard working skater. Well, maybe it`s a good thing Anna got rid of them all.

Yes. I don't understand why some posters see him in Korea. He is/was in RESERVE team what is not so much. Just a title and a younger skater wont be left out the team because of him. Artur Gachinsky was in the Russian team but no one was shouting, why is there because did not compete in last season. If Plushy wants to be in real Russian team in 2018 he needs to beat the super talent Kolyada( who is Plushenko's favorite, Plushy said after CoR or Rus Nat he can help him in jumps if Kolyada wants it:respec:), the amazing Pitkeev who will improve to 2018, I'm sure. And we don't forget about Aliev, Samarin and of course about Kovtun he has many quads if he has a good day....

And because I'm a fan of him I like him as a person, too I want him the health at first. If you follow him know he is a happy people enjoys his life with his amazing family. So everybody calm down, if he will be Korea that will be be the 8th wonder of the world. And I'm sure he will deserve every support from everybody.

Yes. I wanted to edit my post with Petrov and that guy's name (i dont remember now) who landed in quad Lz. And Voronov of course who is always inspired by Plushenko. Voronov said at COR when he learned Plushenko is in the audience wanted to show perfect 4T-3T....
There are videos Plushenko helps the younger skaters in jumps in the practices of his shows. For example to Dmitriev Jr....

I'm not going to articulate exactly why because it should be obvious, but this Plushenko 2018 tap dance is ridiculously irresponsible. If Plushenko really wants to skate in 2018 he needs to go out and start competing now.

You mean before his body has healed enough to compete at the eligible level? I find that a very irresponsible statement.

I also found this strange. I'm pretty sure I've read an interview with Y/M before where he called her a workaholic. Seems like maybe Anna just had different ideas for the direction of the team than Sergei and their coaches (starting to believe the rumors she wanted to switch coaches and he didn't).

Tbh, he also didn't sound all that enthusiastic about Popova (who I actually love but still think is a downgrade from Yanovskaya) - basically saying he just went with her for lack of options and so he won't miss a competitive season. I'd be weary if I were her for down the line when better options become available to him...

Actually, all the comments I've seen from federation officials make it sound like funding will be tight for the next year (economic difficulties, priority given by the Ministry of Sport to funding athletes in Rio), and they have to carefully consider who gets on the team. I've seen some rumours that full national team funding might only be going to the top 3 finishers at nationals, instead of top 5 as in previous years. So if Plushenko is still getting the funding which he is entitled to as a reserve team member, even if it's not the same amount that full team members get, it's entirely likely that as a consequence another skater who has actually been competing for the last 2 years and who is intending to for the next 2 season will be overlooked.

Yes, that's my point. How demotivating it must be to be a Russian male skater who busts their ass competing every season and gets little support, while someone who only shows up once or twice in a quad is given special treatment over & over again. You know, maybe some of them would be able to produce better results if they had the financial support for better training conditions. Not all of them come from wealthy families. I know Kolyada doesn't (and yes - he did a great job this season, but look at his results prior to his injury...he wasn't on anyone's radar, but perhaps he could have been, much earlier, if his circumstances were different). And while some like Kovtun may deserve to be called lazy, I don't think that applies to the vast majority of them. Honestly, my problem is not so much with Plushenko as with the Russian fed who keeps indulging this nonsense.

I think they don't get the funding based on how hard they are working, but based on their results. All the skater need is to show consistently decent results and they will get the funding. Look at ladies, most of them weren't funded and yet they are so many of them showing such a great results. If anything, I think it is unfair that usually in the main team there is more men than ladies, and yet on average the men are much weaker than the ladies. In fact, the men in the main team are having as low results as the ladies that are on the reserve team.

Kolyada was assigned the Rostelecom Cup host spot in 2014 before his injury withdrawal, so his federation thought highly enough of him then even though his breakthrough season had to be delayed a full year.

Yes, but what recent results does Plushenko have that would justify including him? I am fine with someone like Adelina being in the reserve team because at least she showed up for a few competitions. Plushenko never was planning to compete the last 2 seasons, and he won't this season either. Therefore I don't see any good argument for his inclusion. But I will wait to see who gets shafted on May 19 before I get too upset, I suppose.

That 'someone' has brought glory to Russia and when healthy he was dependable. I can see their viewpoint in keeping him on the list, could be 'just in case' or could be due to gratitude. I personally don't think Plushenko is going to make the 2018 Olympic team; he is physically incapable of competing.

Kolyada had potential (still does) before his injury. The only reason he was not getting anything was he could not compete due to the injury. He will get the support now.

I don't know if Kovtun is lazy. I think he is just not very talented. He did well a few times, and he had TAT on his side, so he got the support then. I don't think he will be getting special treatment now that there are some talented young skaters. I am sure the competition (particularly with Plushenko's name in it) is going to motivate many of them to work harder and skate great. The competition has made the Russian ladies great.

In that particular case, I am sure, it's a lie. Looks more like a cheap TV novel :scream:
If they do really have names of the athletes and real evidences, they would have already announced it

It seems you aren't too informed about Plushenko:). He doesn't need the salary, he said it the Federation in last season. But the Federation answered if he is the member of the team he receives salary. Thus Plushy gave it to charity. You don't forget he is one of the most richest skaters in the world. So if the Federation is smart and wants to help other skaters can do it.

Can you tell me an example when a talented younger skater suffered a disadvantage because of Plushenko in two last seasons? I honestly say I can't. I'm thinking about it what is Plushenko's profit in the membership. Not so much. He paid the medical treatment in Israel....

Dmitry Chernyshenko's tweet yesterday after the news about Plushy's membership.. Probably you remember him he was the head of the Sochi OG organizing committee . He opened and closed the OG.

Mishin might even train him for free as long as he gives compliments to his other skaters when necessary, for their self-esteem :psoty: (and the sake of the team competition).

I'm curious of your opinion. You are Russian but you are very critical on the Russian taste. This is a japanese video about Plushenko's house. Miyu Honda was Plushy's guest in 2014 and after he was the guest of Miyu or the TBS's channel.

They love each other as father and son. Plus I really believe Plushy wasn't a bad business for Mishin. He received 10% from Plushy's every income from the skating. And that wasn't little money...:D if we know his popularity, and his price on the shows( I can't know exactly but Edvin Marton said in an interview Plushenko is very very expensive and laughed so hardly). And that's so cool that was only a verbal agreement between them.
