Odd Food Combinations

Chocolate and potato chips
They are actually selling potato chips dipped in chocolate now. I have seen both Lay's and Pringles versions. I can't get ready for it yet...lol
I like watermelon with a little salt.
This is really popular down south. My grandmother did this and swore the salt enhanced the sweetness of fruit. I have seen people do it with all types of apples and melon.

I have a friend who eats oranges with salt and says it's the bring out the sweetness. I've never tried it though.

I have had pinwheels which are ham slices spread with cream cheese wrapped around a dill pickle spear. I don't care for pickles but I loved these. A great party appetizer.

Was it really a dill pickle? I've made pinwheel sandwiches with ham and cream cheese, but always used a Gherkin, not dill.

I still love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. But the weirdest one I've heard of lately is bacon and chocolate. That makes me cringe.

Chocolate and potato chips

That's not weird! Sweet and salty. A local chip company has sold those around the holidays for years. I just saw a display of chocolate covered Pringles at Walmart last week and was thinking about getting some.

I guess I was an early adopter. I was eating them together more than 50 years ago.

I'll have to think about this, but someone might think barbeque potato chips (speaking of chips) crunched up in an omelet, with cheese (edited to add - l left out "is weird" before). Takes the salty place of bacon or ham.

I've made "nachos" with Fritos, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and melted peanut butter.

I tried guacamole on a hot dog and it was one of best toppings I have ever had.

The most common thing that I do to "remake" leftovers is to put them on a pizza. For example, I've made chili pizza and spaghetti pizza.

I'm going to stop before you guys think I am too weird.

Tuna Fish packed in water (after it's drained) and Cream of Mushroom Soup. Mix together, heat it up and pour over Toast. My dad use to make this all the time when my brother and I were growing up. It may sound yucky, but it is delicious.

I also like eggs scrambled into softened boiled potato chunks (with skins). Once the potato chunks are boiled to soften them up, I drain them, pour them over into a skillet with butter, and add two eggs. It's done when the eggs are scrambled. You can also add anything else like onions, bell pepper if you wish. I love to eat this with toast, usually make this for breakfast.

Not strange at all! That is how my mom made tuna, chicken, or turkey salad. Divine!
I also use sweet pickle relish, chop up a couple of boiled eggs, and add 2 tbsps. of Miracle Whip to make tuna salad. Yum. I've never liked chopped apples in it, though.

My husband eats peanut-butter-and-mayonnaise sandwiches and swears they're good. :) He also eats watermelon with salt (and has gotten me into it).

Peanut butter and mayonnaise combo seems like a stomachache waiting to happen :scream:.

I think watermelon sprinkled with salt is very common in Asia.

Ist one - gluh (how do you type a gagging, shuddering sound? hee hee hee)
2nd one - we always did that growing up

Tuna salad with sweet relish mixed in. Yum!

Isn't that how you make tuna salad?

I know people who have actually tried fish fingers and custard. Given I nearly vomited just WATCHING that episode I say there is such a thing as taking Doctor Who fandom way too far.
