DWTS Season 21 cast rumors....anyone?

The positive exposure Alek has received will give him future offers.
He's done very well for a non-celebrity, brought to the show via "circumstance'; without prior training or experience.

I honestly haven't voted since Victor was eliminated (and I'm SURE he is quite happy with his "going down in the history books plus 10-15% of the winner's share of a $3million race" over dancing) and only watched intermittently but much as I am for rewarding ability and she's not the worst...I wish Tamar would go. Attitude makes a huge difference. And I think Derek's going for an even half-dozen MBTs (he's got 5, right?) Good story + good performance + Derek is hard to beat no matter how much improvement you show or well you perform.

I think they all get an appearance fee. But that it varies based on who they are and how good their agent/negotiator is.

The only thing surprising about that article is that the judge was unaware that her father is dead!
I think this one of those legal/technicality things. The judge may have read in TMZ that her father is dead. That doesn't mean they don't have to include his death certificate in the contract filings.

After all, do you really want judges to make decisions based on something they read somewhere probably in a gossip mag? I don't.

The story was just reported by TMZ. Not Steve Irwin's death!!! :-)

Does everyone who dances week one get $125,000?

The only contracts that are public are the ones for minors since they need to be approved by the court. According to the articles, Shaun Johnson and Bindi Irwin had almost identical contracts, but we don't know if the rest of the contracts are similar or if certain people get more.

They are making a mountain out of a mole hill. No matter that Bindi's father's death is public knowledge, the court will still need to have a copy of the death certificate.
I agree. Reading all the venomous reaction online (not here, mostly Facebook) just re-inforces my belief that people love to be outraged.

Still - TPTB couldn't have taken care of it before the first show aired? When they started rehearsing? When she signed the contract? When they invited her to be on the show?

Steve Irwin's death was definitely discussed in TMZ. But the courts still need a death certificate. ;)

I'm sure it was just a paperwork snafu. The corporate lawyer who filed the paperwork probably didn't realize it was necessary.

O.k. - my original comment was about an article FROM TMZ that was posted on my home page on THURSDAY about Bindi's contract being rejected. I have no idea if TMZ reported Steve Irwin's death in 2006. I did not watch the show in 2006 (or now). I do not go to their web page That is not the point. I later saw the same article about Bindi's contract being rejected posted different places. I'm so very sorry I attached the one from TMZ.

Legal detour

This whole thing about the contract has been interesting for me and my husband who is a lawyer. Any contract that normally includes two signatures, parents or spouses, always has to be accompanied by documentation if a signature cannot be obtained. DH had to bring a case all the way to the State superior court to determine what documentation is sufficient if someone is lost at sea and presumed to be dead since there won't be a death certificate. The poor guy's wife couldn't take control of his assets for about two years while this wound through the courts.

End detour

Where is she? Why wasn't she even there at the beginning? I don't watch the show but just happened to have it on as I was making dinner.

She was taken to the hospital this afternoon. That was pretty much all that was said.

I feel like it can't be serious or they wouldn't have implied she may show up to dance. This kind of seems like a publicity stunt for the show but I do hope she is OK.

TMZ is reporting that she was still in the ER about an hour ago. Even if she left AMA, it would be tough to get to the studio in time.

My original thought when Val walked out alone was that she had a hissy fit and refused to show up :shuffle:
It was weird how he said "I'm not here to make her life harder." and "It's been like that all season" Didn't see how that applied if she was sick.

Yeah, it seems pretty obvious that there is something going on other than just her being sick. She may be very sick but it seems there have been issues all season. This is coming from someone who has only watched this one episode. lol
