US Ice Dance 2024-25 News & Updates

Not sure what any of that has to do with what the purpose of their withdrawal might be?
Well, this is just the general US Ice Dance thread, so I was just ruminating on the online "uproar" and how I think we should all brace and prepare ourselves for an obnoxiously rabid fanbase unlike anything we've quite had to deal with in US skating in the Xwitter era.

I don’t remember Dave being wrong when posting very openly something as serious as this.
This is not a closed paid stream with catty insinuations.
No, I don't think whatever info he has is wrong - just that he can't or doesn't have enough info to say more than what he's said. And, I'd bet good money he's turned what he does know over to Christine Brennan and she's probably working her far better sources and contacts to see if she can turn it into a legitimate news story.

@Karen-W well it’s certainly more responsible that Brennan does the journalistic part than Dave Lease. I’m not even trying to be shady towards either of them. I could only assume that I’m not the only one who had him slide in their DM’s with additional juicy information once in while. The thing is, I’m not usually that deeply involved nor do I really care if he knows more than he posts publicly. Sometime ago there was a little scandal where it became known that he was a part of a gossip group about US regional figure skating and somebody was posting screenshots on twitter or instagram about it trying to expose Dave and it was all ridiculous.

Hopefully Morozov and Chen make it in time to get something fron their first Grand Prix.

I don’t hate their free dance. For a Morozov made program that’s a win.
I will admit, I’m sucker for Star Wars and I’m sad it’s not used more and figure skating aside from gala.

Le sigh. Not my team, but I am sorry that Flores & Desyatov finally earned their way onto the GP only to now pull out. Morozov & Chen are the clear replacements, but they could have benefited from more time to develop as a team; and F&D have put in a couple years now to earn this berth.

Also, it seemed like we'd maybe had our fair share of ice dance drama for the month, but I guess, nope.

Re-posting here from the Programs & Choreographers thread:
Their [program music] is finally on their USFSA bio, but not on their ISUBio.
Link:
Caroline GREEN / Michael PARSONS
RD: "These Boots Are Made for Walking (SILO x Martin Wave Remix)" by The Supremes and Martin Wave and "Soul Bossa Nova" by Quincy Jones

grepar only finished a point or so above Pate/Bye and 4 behind the Lithuanians. Thats not good either.

I quite like Green/Parsons' new RD, unfortunately he's apparently unwell and is reported to have fainted after the rhythm dance. I really hope he recovers well and doesn't push himself, he performed quite well under the circumstances.

I've never seen him look as wiped out as he did after they finished. I mean, beyond Charlie White levels of wiped out. Really hope he's okay.
TSL reported that Michael was apparently ill during the warm-up also - hoping he's just dealing with the flu and not anything worse.
