If F/D ends up getting other gp then why not?

I only care about F/D getting gp btw
me too!I just hope some other feds are as thoughtful as USFS and try harder to give their skaters more oppotunities to compete…

Well, well, well... Morozov/Chen won silver at Lombardia with a score of 177.05, and Neset/Markelov won bronze with a score of 175.33 - not too shabby for either team!

With this medal, Morozov/Chen should earn a spot on the GP Alternates list, however the chances of them getting a GP assignment are non-existent unless a US team WDs - and even that wouldn't mean they'd get a GP since FlorDes are still in 1st position on the GP Alternates List followed by JvRStef and DupNab, then MorChen slot in. But, still, good for them! Onward and upward with even better scores and perhaps they'll slide into the SB Top 24 and guarantee themselves at least 1 GP next season.

Zingas/Kolesnik music, per updated USFS bio:

2024-25 Season Notes
RD Music: Bee Gees medley
FD Music: "Epilogue" by Olafur Arnalds and "Lost It to Trying" by Son Lux

Epilogue was part of the soundtrack for Nomadland.

(As is not uncommon, the music used for their recent Instagram post of an FD excerpt was not program music.
The Instagram music was a different Arnalds piece.)

ETA:

For the sake of completeness, I should have quoted RD details from Programs thread:
Emilea Zingas/Vadym Kolesnik (USA)
RD: Jive Talkin, Staying Alive, You Should Be Dancing (all remixes)

Per Emilea on the Off(ice) Hours podcast
(Aug 30)

Thanks to TanithandBenFan, Emilea, and Lindsay Wang :)

My friend in the venue (she attends more than dozen events a year) told me about the free skate of Zingas/Kolesnik:

I saw them practice yesterday and was amazed at how completely different their program looks this time! The choreography is unique, and I am looking forward to seeing how it will be judged, and I hope everyone will see it soon!

I am very looking forward to seeing it!

Can the 2024-2025 music list updated for Maddy and Evan's ISU bio be true?

How can someone use so many pieces of music for RD?

The ISU bio copied the same music (both SP and FS) for Jun-hwan this year, which turns out not to be true, so I will wait for the update of their bio on the USFS Fanzone site.

ETA: If this is true, then the music for FD is a combination of Take Five sung by the original legendary singer, Brubeck, and the one sung by a Japanese singer Juju (she is very popular in Japan).

I'm thinking C/B are going to do some sort of jukebox thing and go thru lots of those pieces at the beginning before settling in.

I'm really interested to see what they do with this. I'm not convinced whatever they are trying to do will work  but I'm interested!

Ohhhh, that could be! That makes as much sense as anything else. Sadly, it would seem like the settle in for disco with both the BeeGees AND Donna Summer in one program, plus the Jackson 5 and "YMCA" thrown in for good measure, lol.

Aboian/Veselukhin won bronze today and are in the mix to qualify for the JGPF with 24 points.

Who knows how any of it will play out - the Slovenia field is pretty deep with and we have yet to see Pedersen/Starr (next week in Poland).

I'll be very interested to see how the other US teams score, because right now it kind of feels like the Worlds team has already been decided in September. But early season Challengers scoring can be wonky and not necessarily hold up later. It seems likely that Green/Parsons won't be debuting until the GP and I hope they come out looking strong, and we'll see how Bratti/Somerville look in a couple weeks at Budapest, seems like they're keeping their FD from last season probably because of her injury.

GreenP's first GP isn't until week 4 at NHK. I'd be surprised if they aren't sent to CS Trophee Metropole Nice for their season debut the same week as SkAm. We'll see those entries sometime next week (hopefully Monday or Tuesday). We also have yet to see Pate/Bye debut (probably also Nice since their first GP is week 3 at GPdF); and the Browns will debut in 2 weeks at Denis Ten.

And, minor nitpick, Budapest is in 3 weeks - we have a week off between Challengers next week.

I don't think we can say anything for certain with regard to the composition of the Worlds team - apart from it likely including both ChoBat and CarPon. That third spot is up for grabs. And, even with CarPon, they aren't SO far ahead of the pack to as to have a one fall/major mistake advantage over any other team.

I'm interested to see how 4CCs and Worlds assignments shake out. It didn't hurt ChoBat or LajLag to miss 4CCs last season when they got to Worlds, so I think it's possible that ChoBat will forego 4CCs entirely this year if they have a strong fall season. I think that the rest of the teams probably will want/need to do 4CCs to not lose any momentum, and it will be easier than it was this past season with there being some space between Nats & 4CCs.

I also think that CarPon have a really decent chance of making the GPF based on their material this season. We'll know more once LopBri and FBSoer debut at Shanghai Trophy in a couple weeks.

Sorry if I missed this….curious about Hawayek/Baker. They are still listed in the ISP- any info if they are still planning on competing this season? Would they need to qualify for Nats?

We only know what they've been posting on their social media, and from what they've been sharing, it doesn't sound like they are training. Kaitlin has had a busy summer traveling and is also doing music editing and makeup consultations. Jean-Luc has been doing choreo seminars with Nathan Chen and Sam Chouinard. I also think both have been doing choreo for some IAM teams.

As for Nats, we'll know for sure when entries for the Dance Final are posted (no, there is no info on when that will be).

Congratulations to Vanessa Pham/Anton Spiridonov 🥇 🎉, who won this season's final NQS senior dance event today.

Four senior dance entries, so medals for everyone :): Cui/Rogers 🥈 (who placed first in RD); Koncius/Shchepetov 🥉; and Yi/Savelev in fourth.

Per Anton's Instagram photo and caption, Hawayek apparently served as Pham/Spiridonov's on-site coach in Austin.

Hawayek/Baker did not compete in any of the four NQS dance events this season (and did not compete in Lake Placid International, where scores count for NQS) ... so if(????) H/B wanted to compete at U.S. Ice Dance Final (qualifier for Nats), they would need special dispensation from USFS.
(Per USFS rules, H/B don't have a bye to Dance Final or to Nats, and there are no medical byes to Nats.)

It sounds like Hawayek/Baker have moved on. They have given us some exquisite dancing over the years and I will really, really miss them competing but it looks like they have decided to pass on their gifts to the next generation, so that will be exciting to see!

Kaitlin Hawayek posted on her IG that she is in Wichita to promote Nats (sounds like she is teaching a skating clinic tomorrow on behalf of USFS) and said she plans to be at Nats to cheer on the skaters. So it seems clear that H/B will not be competing.
Why do they not just come out and say they are done competing?
