UPDATED/CONFIRMED: Evgenia Medvedeva leaving Tutberidze for Orser

To live and skate as an adult, having the opportunity to make her own choices, have input and freedom in regard to the skating she does is being a true senior skater - not being told what to do, how to do it and only qualify due to being 15.

Were you dropped on your head as an infant or just born to make stupid wisecracks?
No, unlike you I live in a real world so I understand that someone who has been senior for three years won’t suddenly become a real senior. It is not me being stupid, it is you being an idiot that confused me.

Not really, Forrest. It's obvious I support ISU advancing the age from 15 by a significant number of years. Three to be exact, to help you with the mathematics.

Hmmmm...Interesting sentence I always give to every person in figure skating..but I can't tell this about the majority of the posters.

Eteri is a liar, she doesn't deserve anything, she has no soul, she doesn't care about her pupils's soul , she is the worst coach, she abuses her pupils, her pupils have eating desorders, she doesn't care about her pupils' health, she teaches bad technic, she had plastic surgery and she uses botox, she is so cold, she wanted Evgenia to win, poor Alina, she doesn't care about the SS of her skaters..she had bad taste in choreography: Evgenia's mimic is not artistry, so annoying...:)

Evgenia did everything perfectly.

I hope I became a good girl.:saint:
Clearly you seem to come to Eteri’s rescue here because you are at the same level. You understand her « sorrows » so much because you seem to think and act alike.

Projection.

Food for thought.

:) I think this is a standard way to say good bye to the previous coach in Russia. I think she really means she hopes Zhenya will show up to the rink to at least say good bye in person. I don't know how exactly Tutberidze found out about the coaching change, but it does look like she did not hear it from Zhenya directly.
The Ice Network article said she found out via the news, not in person.

I was worried about Russian Fed’s reaction too. But she’s proved herself so many times, including coming back from a stress fracture and powering through Olympics. If anything, they will want her to succeed long term in case their upcoming younger crop fails to survive four years without injury.

I like this part of the ice network article and it only confirms to me why she would go to Orser:

“I told her the first thing she needs to do is to get onto a program where she gets her body healthy,'' Orser said. "So if she gets here and she's not on ice for a couple weeks, that's fine.'''

Re the flowers, iirc Guerreiro once said, disscussing his many coaching changes and parting ways with coaches: “it’s what you do, you come with flowers to say good bye and thank you. Sometimes though you might get those flowers thrown in your face.”

Bourne would have been my first choice - Medvedeva can really dance and I think Bourne could have brought that out in her. I'm not sure which of Buttle/Nichol/Wilson would be by next choice, as all three can be hit or miss.
Kenji Miyamoto.

There's no rule that she has to have a Canadian choreographer ;)

@Zemgirl Kenji Miyamoto choreography to Yuri on Ice music and costumes by Chacott (the dancewear company that designed the anime's costumes). Or just a competitive recreation of a Yuri on Ice program. You know the weeaboo in all of us (including Evgenia) would be so down for that.

Yes, I'm evil, too. :EVILLE:(I don't find more frightening smily what expresses my viperousness ) But that is not my weakness you can't understand what I wanted to say with my all posts.

If you are bored with Eteri's bashing (on how many pages?) It is worth thinking about Mishin's words

https://www.1tv.ru/news/2018-05-07/...verdila_sluhi_chto_uhodit_ot_eteri_tutberidze -google translate

"Let's take my rivals Lesha Yagudin: we trained together with Alexei Nikolayevich Mishin. I stayed to train, worked for 21 years and never changed the coach. Alexei chose a different path. And, you see, he brought this way to him, as they say, medals, gold medals, good results, "says Evgeni Plushenko.

Yagudin changed coach, went to Tatiana Tarasova, and at the Olympics in Salt Lake City, he won. Plushenko remained second. His Olympic gold was waiting in Turin, then in Sochi.

Three in the boat, says today honored coach Alexei Mishin, it's not from sports - from literature. But the current gap between Medvedev and Tutberidze is taking place against the background of revolutionary changes in the system of assessments.

"These changes can seriously affect the whole situation around Zhenya. Because the value of multiplane jumps will be lowered, and the purity and thoroughness of performance - instead of +3, you can get +5 ", - said Alexei Mishin.

I´m really excited about Medvedeva news! Orser team was an excellent choice for her and I´m eagerly looking forward to her new programs without any miming... She will blossom in Toronto and reach her full potential as a performer and artist.

There isn’t but proximity to the Cricket Club helps and I was trying to think who team Orser skaters have worked with before because they tend to have their go-to group of choreographers. Even Bourne is a bit out of the box, as she hasn’t done that much work for the Orser group (some Hanyu long programs, some of Chartrand’s programs when she was training there part time). I wouldn’t criticize Miyamoto as a choice but it would be pretty wild by the team Orser standards :p

I can't with Averbukh...can someone please stick a sock in his mouth or something?

“I don’t like Orser making politically motivated comments about how Poor Zhenya did not have any voice, that she was so unhappy because she had to do what the coach says.

I have been Medvedeva’s choreographer for the last 4 years, so let’s see what he can come up with. Zhenya was always present in her performances, her views always were always reflected in the program . If Orser once again wants to raise the subject of Russians being robots and them (who is "them"... those Evil Westerners I guess?) being free, that’s what I would tell him.

He should start with being respectful towards her previous coach and all choreographers she worked with. Because he has a long way to grow to be at Medvedeva’s programs level” *spits out drink at keyboard*

Yes, Ilia, you should win a Nobel Prize because of your contribution to mimeography  Orser has a looong way to go.

Oh yes Averbukh, that was soooo political. Oh you poor Russians, everybody is always against you!
Let me provide the socks needed!

(And to clarify, I love Russia! But not Averbukh! What's with them kids?)

@lala I know you're nice, not evil. But you once wrote you were earlier influenced by crazy ladies on Pluhsenko message boards or something and now act like them. Don't! This is not the first time Eteri trashes her leaving students. Adult, so much. It's no excuse for it. And no need to defend her;)

Btw I was at a seminar with Joshi Helgesson last month. Among other things she spoke about her experience in Canada. She said the North American technique is totally different from what European coaches teach, f.i. leaning out of the curve instead of inwards when jumping. It was very hard for her. Wonder how Med will do? I hope Orser & co can teach her better technique, so she doesn't have to muscle those jumps out so much.
