Solid return to international competition for Chock and Bates. 75.30 for their rhythm dance at the Torun Cup. Level 3's on everything except for their rotational lift that got a level 4 and Evan got a Level 4 on the twizzle sequence. PCS's in the high 8's and some 9's.

It is a good score but they are so close to Kaliscek/Spordiev...

C/B haven't competed in so long while K/S have more competition mileage this season, I think this is their 4-5 competition at least? I'm sure C/B will gain momentum plus I'm sure the FD will see more separation. K/S also got higher levels; C/B have an almost 2 point PCS edge.

The panel at Worlds is heavily Euro and former East bloc. While I don't think anything this egregious will happen there, since Worlds is a lot more visible and would provoke outrage, this is a bit of a preview for how things may go for USA and CAN teams. :(

Greens are much better then earlier in the season. They are in a good shape to win the Nationals

I just checked results waking up here.

Well Im SO GLAD they did this comp to get some rust out.

They finished second tho in technical mark (usually their better mark) to a Polish team.

Im so happy they did this comp before heading to Nat.

How does this 75.30 compare to H&B, P&P, M&C and C&P RD score internationally this season?

I just watched the performance. Chock & Bates are stilll my favorite US team now that The Shibs are sitting out... A minor critique, I dont like the bridal bun, Is it wrong Id love to see a high pony for this Latin number?

Is this Assasins Tango? I think Id love to see a pony a la Tuk!

Yes, I agree. The pattern levels are really important for Chock & Bates, and they got the two 3s. (She got one of the mysterious level 3 twizzles too). K&S's marks are the ones that are odd. They've been scoring below all the young U.S. teams. (And they've been up head to head with all of them except H&B, head to head with C&P three times). K&S have been getting good levels in the RD, and they have been improving. But they're really much more likely to score in the 65-70 range. I'd chock it up to homefield scoring and move on.

For what it's worth: Even in dance, this just isn't a panel you would run into outside of the region. Only the five judges and all former Soviet countries on both the tech panel and the judging panel except for the Americans.

Greens are much better then earlier in the season.

I agree. That RD has a lot more fire and spark now, and they skated it with confidence.

They are in a good shape to win the Nationals

Going to make a battle out of Junior Nationals anyway. I really love Nguyen & Kolesnik, but we should get a fight out of this.

I wonder if Madison put her hair in a bun for the tango because she already spent two seasons in a row having her hair in a ponytail in the SD.

Ah! I saw his stories and wondered why he was there, was thinking he was either coaching or doing something with the Tea Time Foxtrot seminar. That is cool that he is the team leader. Hope he gets the chance to do it again for a larger event.

I'm really happy C/B are back and looking as good as they are because as impressive as the American teams were in the GP series, I do think we need another team closer to or on H/D's level for Worlds given how competitive it is and to allow the third team some breathing space to quietly gain traction.

I like 95% of C/B's new FD everything except part of that last lift that looks like the lift from their Under Pressure FD where it appears Evan is swinging Madison around like a sack of potatoes. Other than those few seconds I think it's very good. (But I'll still be rooting for H/B the most at US Nationals)

I would be rooting for H/B the most but I just cannot get into their FD at all. If they had something like Liebestraum or their Romeo + Juliet I would be.

^^^ That's the way the world goes round. I agree I liked H/B's Liebestraum and R&J programs more but I commend them committing to their new programs completely.
Anyway, this upcoming Nationals I'll watch ice dance on my TV with little anxiety, no matter who wins. And I'll be wondering which teams can skate their best.

Wow, C&B had a great free score.... for this to be their score for their first competition.... should they make Wolrds (and why wouldn't they?) they could find themselves top 5 in worlds with a few more competitions under their belt!!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Three questions with Madison Hubbell, Zachary Donohue before U.S. Championships

https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2019...chary-donohue-national-championships-preview/

Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohuebroke through the U.S. ice dance field to win their first national title in 2018. This year, they come back to defend – but their resumes are so much stronger this year.

The Montreal-based team most recently won the Grand Prix Final after sweeping both their assignments earlier in the fall.

At their media teleconference ahead of nationals, they spoke candidly with reporters about how they’re preparing for the competition (“jovially,” said Donohue) and the purpose behind the tweaks to their programs audiences will see in Detroit.
