This Karen Read trial....it's a doozy!

Prosecution entered a flipped photo into evidence, claiming the driver's side was actually the passenger's side of Karen's car. Smh...

Then there are the text messages between the officers.

I'd say the odds of a conviction are lower than an octopus' belly.

Today was really.... something.

This one still haunts me .. when I think about it anyways. I was 21 at the time of the disappearance in Etobicoke I did did not live in Toronto) and always saw the posters, the advertisements on buses etc etc. times are obviously different then but basically no witnesses (forget about security cameras) .. no body ever found .. no suspects.

Wow, if the guy is that unstable and continues to work in a public service role......in any event, no matter the job, if you try and kill a co-worker you should be criminally charged and certainly lose your job.

This took my breath away after all this time.

FBI says DNA links Ohio man who died in 2018 to brutal 1996 killings of 2 hikers in Virginia’s Shenandoah National Park

Authorities in Virginia say new DNA testing has finally identified a suspect in the brutal killings of two hikers in Shenandoah National Park nearly thirty years ago.

DNA recovered from the crime scene, which was recently retested using more up-to-date methods, links Walter Leo Jackson Senior, of Cleveland, Ohio, to the killings of 24-year-old Julianne “Julie” Williams and 26-year-old on Laura “Lollie” Winans, authorities announced.

Jackson, who authorities say is responsible for at least three other violent sexual assaults in Ohio, died in prison in 2018 while serving a sentence for a 2011 kidnap and rape of a woman in Cleveland, Ohio, said FBI Richmond Special Agent in Charge Stanley Meador.

Triple murders are rare in Toronto. The victims and shooter were involved in a lawsuit. It was a murder suicide.

Wow I haven’t heard about this. How devastating 😔 I’ve been a bit offline this week.

The Susan Smith case was one that enraged people. In the fall of 1994, young mother Susan Smith of South Carolina, called police with a tearful account of a black man carjacking her vehicle with her two young sons in the back seat, and pleaded with the carjacker to return her kids safely. But discrepancies in her account began to erode her credibility, and within 9 days, she confessed to killing them by letting her car sink into a lake with the kids in the back seat. She went on trial, was convicted and sentenced to life imprisoned. The case recently became news as she is up for parole this November.

I wasn't watching but did see Trooper Proctor on the stand and let me tell you: If I ever need a defense attorney I'm hiring Karen's guy. Trooper P did not comport himself well. But that NOTHING compared to Trooper Paul---what happened? Did they not prep him at all? Or did they prep him and he was overcome by anxiety? Or was he just that unprepared to answer questions. THAT was excrutiating: https://x.com/tyotoys/status/1802891223092396210?s=46&t=rM0NgdSP66HE11JrQD9VnQ

I remember that when it happened 😔.

So do I. When the news broke of her son's bodies being recovered, my sister-in-law could barely contain her disgust. Kathie Lee Gifford on Live With Regis and Kathie Lee, just broke down in tears and had to excuse herself from the set.

I had to refresh my memory on what happened when you posted that but I remember it was horrifying. All for some man. I kind of only remember parts of it because it’s been so long.

The children were used as slaves and not allowed in the home. They were allegedly targeted because of their race.

Wow, how horrid. Those poor kids. I hope the adoption agency investigates its own screening process to ensure children are not left to such horrid "parents"

Unbelievable! A clerical error meant that a violent offender released from jail was not fitted with an ankle monitor. He then left the state and murdered his ex girlfriend.

Weird.........

Re the Texas Labour camp noted above, I read that 2 girls (one white and one black) who were attending UCLA at the time (this was n the 1970s) were driving across the southern US one summer when they were stopped, cited by police and then taken to a similar labour farm...........the only way they got out was that the parents were unstoppable in their quest to find out what happened to the missing girls.

If you are this bad at being a criminal maybe it is time to find a more honest profession?!
