True Crime thread / for Adults only

I think of those women and girls who thought they were going to a party having no idea they would be forced into an orgy. I hope he rots in jail.

I’ve been searching for commentary from federal criminal experts and they are saying that just the narcotics charges alone (because they involve firearms) would give Combs 15-25 years.

And federal guidelines require you to do 80% of your sentence. It’s why Larry Nasser will likely never serve his sentence in Michigan for those state-level convictions. I think Nasser’s federal sentence was about 60 years.

Breaking: Carly Gregg has been found guilty of first degree murder (her mother) and first degree attempted murder (her stepfather). The jury took less than two hours to decide. 😳

The home security video of what happened was 😱 to watch, even though you don’t see the actual shooting. I won’t link it here but CourtTV’s Instagram has the video that was shown to the jury.

Now the jury enters the penalty phase. Will 15 year old Carly get life with or without parole?

Update: That didn’t take long! Carly was sentenced to life without parole!

What’s crazy is that she was offered a plea deal for 40 years. If she had taken it, there’s a good chance she’d would’ve been eligible for parole in 25 years.

Kidnapping victim found alive after more than 70 years!

Liar liar pants on fire…

Not only my hometown but also the area, Lord Roberts, where I grew up. Does any one know why they have not published the names of the accused? It does not sound like they are underage or that they were trying their best and just financially overwhelmed.
40myearsold and 55 def not underage. You might have to google for more info. The fact that there’s a dark web audience watching it is sickening.

Delphi murders...

From Google.

Lethal injection is the current primary method of execution in Indiana. According to Indiana codes, the execution of a death row inmate must take place before sunrise on the execution day. On July 1, 2002, Indiana shifted away from sentencing in death penalty cases with a judge towards sentencing with a jury.

These people are sick and I hope they get punished to the full extent of the law. How anyone can torture an innocent animal is beyond belief..........

Teacher shields victim of a savage swarming attack with her body!

I recently watched both the Ryan Murphy series and the Netflix documentary. I don't know what to think anymore.

My own conflicting beliefs are as follows:
  • The Menendez brothers committed premeditated first degree murder and were spoiled brats
  • There were extenuating circumstances, and the case would be looked at differently in 2024 than it was at the time
  • Making decisions based on Instagram petitions and a Ryan Murphy series doesn't sit right with me

So where does that leave me? I'm not sure. But resentencing doesn't seem unreasonable to me on the surface, assuming the documentary and the series represent things at least semi-accurately (not a given). The brothers have done 35 years behind bars. I don't think releasing them now would send a message that murdering your parents is OK.

On the Ryan Murphy series:
  • Ari Graynor deserves an Emmy for her portrayal of Leslie Abramson. She's captivating.
  • The Cooper Koch shower scene is

I guess I’m just bothered by the Menendez brothers’ behavior after the murders. And at Kim Kardashian being so involved. And we’ve seen what’s happened with Gypsy Rose Blanchard since she was released. 😬

Unpopular opinion but…

Only four people know exactly what happened in that house and two are dead. Those two were adults. They had options including the option to just leave but that may have meant living without the parents money. Instead they choose to murder, cover it up and go on with life.

I’m going to slightly disagree with this. It wasn’t just that they blew their parents up with 12-gauge shotguns. It was that they covered it up and then went on VACAY!!! 😎 🤑 afterwards. 😒

And here’s the thing: I’m willing to agree that their parents were likely messed up and abusive towards them. But they still had dozens of other options to deal with it.

All of that is true. The question now is what's the appropriate punishment. They're up for potential resentencing, not retrial. Is 35 years long enough of a punishment, given the circumstances? I don't know. If they were serially molested from a young age, I think there's some argument. I see why the DA's office is conflicted. I am, too.
