I am over the moon because my alma mater Texas Tech made it to the final four today, for the first time ever in school history.
They beat Gonzaga (number one in the western division). The game was a nail biter and I was afraid of a heartbreak, but my Red Raiders won! They will play in the semifinals next Saturday. Go Tech!

What a great tribute to women and to his own mother, by Ryan Amador! :encore:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rrex8Yke2k

"... Teach me to be as much like a woman as I possibly can be
Be as tough as a woman
Wear my heart upon my sleeve
I want to fight like a woman
I want to own what I believe
Be as brave as a woman
Lift my faith to the women
Who carry us all..."

P.S. Ryan might also need a talented woman choreographer to help him
with some of his dance moves :p

Hope this counts: Israel's Beresheet is on its way to the moon.

Nooooo, it failed just as I posted :(

Well, they got very close and sent this cool picture during the landing sequence. Good luck to India, which I believe has the next lunar mission.

This guy, Benjamin Shine, is an incredible artist! He creates portraits from tulle, and this amazing outdoor creation using ribbon for his own wedding!

Fabric portraiture is not new, but doing it in this extraordinary way using tulle, iron, and occasionally invisible thread, is out-of-the-box unique. Shine's outdoor wedding creation using (wire mesh) ribbon is astounding. :encore:

Additional fabric art, and techniques:
The use of needle and thread on open weave canvas (needlepoint) and woven canvas (cross-stitch) to create portraits is also definitely not new. But using various pieces of fabric and thread to create quilted portraits is relatively recent. Plus, in the past 30 years or so, there has been a lot of experimentation in artistic creativity with embroidery and textiles generally.

The first artist I know of who made portraits with fabric and thread, is Deirdre Scherer. She is credited with pioneering the method of using fabric and thread to paint portraits, first of the elderly. Her groundbreaking book in which she shared her art: Deirdre Scherer: Work in Fabric and Thread (1998), is simply amazing and revelatory.

Have you heard Dimash Kudaibergen from Kazakhstan?

His voice is really amazing!!!

to say the truth... it seems to me he still thinks about playing with his voice, not about creating a harmonious (balanced) song, maybe he still learns to cope with such a voice (sorry, that I say such a thing)
I really hope he will make it sound like a song! (not like some pieces of songs)

Sorry. Of course, I had seen Denis skating to "SOS d'un terrien en detresse", but somehow I didn't remember the voice. Yesterday it seemed to me I heard this voice for the first time. I did think about Ten's program, but I didn't rewatch it.

Just have to share - decaf Dr. Pepper is back!!!! I haven't seen it for years. I googled "what happened to decaf Dr. Pepper", and it showed it at Kroger. Not the two I go to, but a close superstore (edited "Marketplace" -I was so excited I couldn't think!). Yippee!!!! I can't drink regular Dr. P after about noon, especially in the summer. I've been getting a decaf Big K vanilla cream soda that is pretty good, but so syrupy I have to water it down. Decaf Coke and Pepsi are too sweet and/or syrupy too. Clear stuff like Sprite and anything fruity does things to my stomach. TMI. :) They better have some in stock tomorrow!

WAAAAAHHHHH!!!! They didn't have it. The Pepsi delivery guy happened to be there and he said he hasn't seen it in years. The customer service lady said maybe it was an old website. Why would they have the two newest Krogers in the area on it now. The one I went to was built in 2013. I haven't had decaf Dr. since I moved into this house in 2007. I thought decaf was back available in this area.
I went to the reviews on their website. Decaf had a 4.5 rating. Practically all of the comments were WHERE IS IT???
So I went to their FB page. Most of the comments were WHERE IS IT??? "Dr. Pepper" replied to comments to message your zip code and they would tell you where the closest store that carries it is. Well, I'm not going to drive to Indy or KY, or even north of Dayton if that's the closest. Everybody go to their FB page and ask them to carry it in 45342, 45439 (Moraine - where they are building a new Marketplace) or 45459 (Centerville - that store has clothes and towels and stuff; I go over there to get gas when the weather is nice; I'd stock up!). Man..............:wuzrobbed

This is just so sweet and funny. Babies do understand. It just takes them time to articulate and to speak out exactly the words they are always hearing from people around them. It's important to engage with little ones. :) This little one is cool, and obviously, so are his parents:

Apparently, this is the original video which was initially posted on Facebook (by comedian DJ Pryor with his son):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfcGwbfVCsE CNN Interview with Dad and son

This is cute as well! A compilation of Dads with babies. The one where the Dad threw the baby up so far in the air looks like a skating partner off-ice practice video.
