I read this on facebook. I don't have a link to post.

Candice Payne is a 34 year old woman in Chicago. She is not rich. When Chicago winter temperatures dipped to arctic levels, she used her own credit card to book 30 rooms at a Chicago hotel, for the homeless people. News spread and Others chipped in. They were able to provide 5 nights in hotel rooms for 122 homeless people. Without her/their kindness and generosity many of these homeless people probably would not have survived.

Slain officer’s K-9 partner will be retired and sent to live with his family as a family pet.

Oh boy, with Trump using the officer's death as fodder to force-build his wall. :drama: The officer, Cpl Ronil Singh, was an American patriot, and an immigrant who spoke three languages. R.I.P., and may God comfort his family. I'm glad that Singh's service dog was given to his wife and young child.

This couple are a Youtube phenomenon, and a very uplifting duo! It's amazing and inspirational watching their journey together. They recently celebrated their one-year anniversary:

How they met:

How Cole became injured:

They have a lot of interesting videos; this is just a sampling. They are always on the go and enjoy life together.

Even their names are cool and charming: Cole and Charisma; he looks kinda like a young Tom Cruise, and she kinda looks like a young Eartha Kitt. They have grown their channel in such a short time to over 80,000 subscribers to date. They are such a positive couple, and they are doing a lot of good things together with great support from their families and friends.

And another young inspirational couple:
Tara & Hunter (college students and track stars; Hunter won medals in Rio - Paralympic events)

Here's a tribute to Cole with pictures of him playing sports and hanging with friends prior to his injury, and video of his school friends and the entire community rallying around to encourage and support his recovery after the accident:

Cole has moved forward in such a positive way, but obviously it wasn't easy, as he's touched on in other videos. It's inspiring how he's living his life to the full and advocating for spinal cord research and understanding of how all disabled individuals are people too. He continues to have the full support and love from his family and friends, his girlfriend, Charisma, and her family and friends.

Good news. I got a partial scholarship to do a 5-day workshop in Landscape painting, taught by an artist that people have raved about. These workshops (at the Scottsdale Artists School) are quite expensive and without the financial assistance I wouldn’t have been able to attend it. Since Landscape painting (and photographing) is my first love, I am excited about this.

Did you see something online that made you feel great? Did something happen to you or someone you know that made you smile? Anything that's considered to be good news...let's talk about it here!:respec:
Not that this matters to everybody else in the world who has a phone with a camera and/or a scanner, but I just found out that you can scan things and email them to yourself FOR FREE at the library!!! I'm going to take my 200 Sadie pictures and send them to myself. (just kidding, sort of) :)

Kenyan science teacher wins global teacher prize. Peter Tabichi gives away most of his pay to needy students.

Peter Tabichi, a member of the Franciscan religious order, won the 2019 Global Teacher Prize.
Brother Peter has been praised for his achievements in a deprived school with crowded classes and few text books.
He wants pupils to see "science is the way to go" for their futures.
The award, announced in a ceremony in Dubai, recognises the "exceptional" teacher's commitment to pupils in a remote part of Kenya's Rift Valley.
He gives away 80% of his pay to support pupils, at the Keriko Mixed Day Secondary School in Pwani Village, Nakuru, who otherwise could not afford uniforms or books
