I don't know, from what you wrote, I still feel you're letting your subjective dislike of their program majorly affect your idea of the deserved PCS scores. Programs are vehicles to show the skating. For scoring purposes, they are much less important than the skating itself. And yesterday, the skating wasn't even close.
That's definitely a possibility. I am human. ;) But I think there's an argument that PCS are purposely vague (i.e. criteria aren't given weights) so that the judges can let the "artistry" of the program and performance matter.

I think it lacks cohesion, which is one of the criteria for CO. I felt their FD had the same problem earlier in the season, but they've really improved the cohesive feeling of that. I also dislike the way the music was cut, so it wouldn't qualify, IMO, as "ingenious use of music."

I personally don't love their interpretation, but that may be a reflection of not seeing it live.

If I were a judge, I would have probably given V/M higher PCS, mainly on PE, but as I wrote, I don't have an issue with judges who went slightly higher for P/C. This is unlike the twizzles where judges who gave +2 or +3 I think were simply wrong.
The problem is that they didn't get higher PCS for interpretation or perfomance which are more subjective but for SS TR and CO (I'm ok with CO not the other two). So the subjectivity argoument doesn't work here

Is this what fandom means? Legends of the sport say a criticism of your team and therefore you attack them?

I am a fan of Ice Dance, period, and enjoy some aspect of every one of the top 10-15 teams. I’ve posted positive posts across multiple teams’ threads this season. So I was in the V/M thread expecting to read cheering, hopeful posts since they easily cleared the world record in the SD again and are in first in the second head-to-head this season. Instead, it’s like 5 or so posters took over and put it into a black hole of negativity, complaining, and attacks. Ugh.

Only the least welcomed kind of fandom.

It's a couple of people snotting at Torvill, and a few more people picking gentle fun of them. Put the worst offender on ignore (I should have done it ages ago) and all will be well once people stop freaking out about the draw, which I expect will happen within the half hour.

Of course I could be totally fricking wrong and that thread is an irredeemable dumpster fire.

Thanks for the encouragement. My username comes from enjoying watching every single event from the -first flight- onward. I have loved ice dance as my favorite discipline since 1994.

This season, I’ve praised programs from: Parsons/Parsons, McNamara/Carpenter, Wang/Liu, Min/Gamelin, Smart/Diaz, Lorenz, Polizoakis, Hurtado/Khaliavin, Hawayek/Baker, Muramato/Reed, Zagorski/Guerrero, Guignard/Fabbri, Stepanova/Bukin, Chock/Bates, Cappellini/Lanotte, Weaver/Poje, Hubbell/Donohue, Shibutani/Shibutani, Virtue/Moir, Papadakis/Cizeron, and my personal favorite: Fournier-Boudreaux/Sorensen.

The only thing I don't like about the Shibutanis prevailing in the individual over Hub/Don is that Hub/Don were left off the team, and that's not fair that they leave without any medal, whereas the Shibs have the team and the individual medal. Hub/Don have worked so hard and have had to put up with a lot. Happy for the Shibs overcoming their issues with the fd, but just No, that Hub/Don leave with no medal.

I just think that P/C should be prevailing for the gold. V/M are still skating now.

Okay, I just disagree that V/M skated better than P/C in the FD. That's a political score in part because of how much V/M have done for the sport. I could tell from the sound of P. J. Kwong's voice before she announced the score, that V/M had won. NBC was building up V/M too.

Congrats to the medalists!
Virtue & Moir AND Papadakis & Cizeron were brilliant. If the French didn't have the apparel malfunction, the outcome may have been different.
Shibs Sibs got the bronze because they didn't make a mistake. Hubbell & Donohue had that small mistake that was the difference between the podium and not.

FIrst time ever in Olympics no medal for Russia? Do they care? Do they make reforms? Do they fire zhulin!!

Eteri is getting a HUGE increase in funding.

I think the result was correct, but Voir FD is so dated and Scott's over-the-top facial expressions are kind of ridiculous. P/C wardrobe cost them in the SD.

Well, Pj Kwong says some sensible things but she is very biased, like most of the Canadian commentators/media types.

Maybe she can do dance too. She will get an increase because she kept Russia figure skating alive here.
I understand the point. Her ladies are responsible for team silver and may go 1-2. So she may get tons of money but I hope she expands to dance.

Please, the only way B/S would be on the podium was total tanking by at least two teams right!? B/S had already been pushed up as far as possible without it looking even more suspicious. The judges tried their best to ding the Shibs and just couldn't manage it! Plus Madi & Zach are better than B/S as well. Slight excitement got the best of Hub/Don again. It's so upsetting because they don't even have a team medal. But USFS did not want to leave either Adam or Mirai off the team, so it came down to ice dance (they knew the Shibs would be stellar, and there was also a lot of buzz in the skating community about H/D being a tad better particularly in the fd. Shibs got their fd worked out though for the Olympics, and they skated with more freedom. Skating their fd in team event seemed to help the Shibs and gave them an advantage going into the individual events).

The goal should have been to radically change b/s or have a different team altogether! I never imagined b/s winning a medal. Her posture made even a world medal impossible under current beliefs forget Olympic medal. But now that it’s fact Russia didn’t medal how can a new team be created that conforms to standards or can any existing team be considered talented enough to contend?

Yes but a young team with great talent will be “promoted” to be coached by kustarova or zhulin! See the problem?!

Nope, and I don't care either. P/C will be ruling ice dance for some time. And there are a lot of great North American teams. Also, Zhulin is not a bad coach.

I know there are so many great North American teams. My point is that if Russia wants a great team equal to North American greatness they should copy all of what North Americans do and have their teams with potential join them!

Zhulin is a bad coach. He has not adopted the current popular styles and is weak in tech.

Shibs are still the darlings for the USFSA. No doubt that skating in the team event helped the Shibs quite a bit with their nerves and confidence.

Madi and Zach did not skate to their ability and they've haven't gained any ground. They may have to be content with being US champions as their only major boon and perhaps move on to retire.
