Is it that G/F have never had good programs or is it just that they’re not dynamic enough performers?

Yes! I feel bad if my post sounded like I was kicking them, it's just so frustrating, because this team deserves really memorable and cool dances to show them off!I agree with the sentiment that Guignard/Fabbri have never had good programs, so recycling something old will just continue this trend. I want to see them skate the best programs of their careers for this home Olympics. I want something memorable.
I think they are plenty dynamic (they skate with speed and intensity and I like the chemistry between them) but I just don't like the programs that Barbara has given them. I hope they consulted outside choreographers for this Olympic season. Is it that G/F have never had good programs or is it just that they’re not dynamic enough performers?
La La Land. I saw it live at GP Final in 2018 and it was wonderful, and what turned me into a fan. But that's a long way in the past and I don't think they should bring it back. But for me it's one of their best programs.G/F have always been that team who have great skills, but never any decent programmes to really show it off. What would you even call a classic FD of theirs that they could bring back?
For me it's their blandest and most boring FD and the worst choice possible for their final season.La La Land. I saw it live at GP Final in 2018 and it was wonderful, and what turned me into a fan. Both, but more B than AIs it that G/F have never had good programs or is it just that they’re not dynamic enough performers?
it is Guignard/Fabbri but they skated to it in 20/21 and 21/22 season alreadyDid Guinard/Fabbri do an Atonement program?
If so, I would be okay with bringing that one back. I loved that one.
If I am misremembering the team, someone let me know who it was. lol.
My Love Will Never Die is my favourite Guignard/Fabbri programme too. I think it worked because it was far enough outside of their wheelhouse to challenge them, but not so far outside that they never got comfortable with it (like the robots). I thought they had one of the better latin RDs that season too.My favourite is My love will never die. I think it was something really different for them and it was a successful year.

Q: What do you think of this year’s rhythm dance theme overall?
Gleb Smolkin: I’m not a huge fan of it. Ice dance has so many styles and genres – you can create incredible and interesting things. I’m a bit old-school in my thinking; I believe we should skate to tango, waltz, and other classic styles too. While I understand that watching twenty tangos might be boring for audiences, twenty attempts to simply “have fun” can also feel repetitive.
“Finding the right 90s music for skating is so tough!” said Bekker. “A lot of it feels like background music, and some of the big hits are, let’s say — one-hit wonders. We really wanted something cohesive that would still feel strong and make a statement for the Olympic season.”
So Shawn Rettstatt, the young'uns think your 90s viral-video bait RD theme is terrible too.Gleb Smolkin shared his thoughts on this year's RD:

Bravo to Gleb Smolkin, a rather unexpected ally. Well said, young manGleb Smolkin shared his thoughts on this year's RD:

I would have loved to see Bekker/Hernandez doing a Bittersweet Symphony RD!Phebe also did some TikToks on the same topic.
I read this as blast ‘You Outta Know’ from Alanis Morrisette.I haven't heard one ice dancer come out in favor of the '90s theme. They all ought to make videos, and people should blare them at Rettstatt wherever he goes.
That's the only program of theirs I've ever liked and I have tried so hard to like them.My favourite is My love will never die. I think it was something really different for them and it was a successful year. Looking back at their BIO it says they did a March with me FD.I just don't remember that![]()
Wait, why are they against the rules?Interesting that Oasis or Bittersweet Symphony are considered against the rules. Thought these rules were trying to ban things like Titanic or The Bodyguard.

Hard disagree, with regard to the RD theme this year. There is plenty of great '90s music, but it's hardly IAM's fault that almost all of the teams, across the globe, are struggling to come up with good music selections for the RD. They aren't showing a similar lack of diversity in their music choices & concepts when it comes to the FD this season (well, some of the top teams are, but that's a different discussion), nor were there problems with a wide range of good RDs coming from a variety of ice dance schools the past two seasons. The limitations the IDTC put on the music options for the RD this year ARE the root of the problem - also, another limiting factor is the choice to use the rhumba for the pattern step - the IDTC could have easily gone with a waltz and that may have made a difference for teams looking for music options that go together cohesively. The decades dance is terrible and reductive, but I will say part of the issue is part of the total lack of imagination we're seeing from the few coaching schools. There is plenty of fantastic 90s music out there that isn't Ricky Martin or Backstreet Boys that fits the requirements. Sadly, IAM's monopoly on dance is making things more bland and less imaginative. It's a real problem.
He's right and he should say it!Gleb Smolkin shared his thoughts on this year's RD:
