Do you have your @starsonice tickets yet? It will be the last chance to see our Olympic Free Dance live... and only 22 more chances for us to perform my favourite program!

Can anybody tell off-hand if this clip is their other number or are they just practicing their FD while an unrelated piece of music plays in the background? (Doesn't look like their FD choreo to me but I'm not 100% sure)

Any reports from tonight?
Just got back a little while ago. Was very pleasantly surprised and would highly recommend it. Some highlights for me:
- biggest crowd pleasers were Adam, Jason and Nathan (and yes he did some quads)
- Jason did a version of his Hamilton short and brought the house down with his number to Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t stop the feeling’
- Meryl and Charlie just amazing performers and still very appreciated by the audience
- Mirai was a huge surprise- very relaxed, smiling and dare I say sexy- so nice to see her outside of a competition
- Shibs did ‘That’s Life’ and their FD from this year- high quality as always
- Ashley seemed a bit nervous, but settled in (yes we still love you) and did a version of LaLa Land long program....very nice and triples were solid
- Bradie did Cinderella program and is working on performance- seemed relaxed, although had one step out and doubled one jump
- Hubbell and Donahue did their FD and several other numbers- been awhile since I have seen them- very big skating (speed, ice coverage, and nice extension and completion of choreography)

Very uplifting performances, no splats, all seemed very grateful to be there. Arena was not full, but respectable attendance, and fairly good mix of families, younger adults and seniors.

Thanks! An on-ice seat just popped up for a show near me. Debating if it’s worth it or ok to be 5-6 rows up. What do you think having seen the show?

The Germain arena in Fort Myers has about 8,000 seats...I was center ice in row 6. I splurged a bit for that seat, but prob would have been just as good a few seats higher. The best seats were on the ice on both sides. Honestly probably not a bad seat in the house...

Very brief Jason clip to Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling": https://www.instagram.com/p/BhS5nLKF_7P/

The Naples Daily News has lots of photos from last night's show:

https://www.naplesnews.com/picture-...e-for-opening-night-of-stars-on-ice/33630251/
And here's the article/Fort Myers show review that goes with the photo gallery: https://www.naplesnews.com/story/sp...han-chen-adam-rippon-ashley-wagner/496314002/
A new program identified:
And while most of the show is fun and energetic, Davis and White’s performance to Sia’s “Elastic Heart” near the end of the show left the audience spellbound in its simplistic beauty as Davis and White worked a long billowing red scarf between them, demonstrating intricate footwork and deep edges.
ETA a few videos from Orlando:

Guys' number to "Feel It Still": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3cKTBVDpJw
Dance group number to "Shape of You": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhS7ML55D9U
Meryl/Charlie "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" & (*eta) "Hold My Hand" by Jess Glynne: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUH6F3-KmiA
Finale (last 1 minute) & Bows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49U5_wCquTA

I am so disappointed with all those videos, to be fair SOI Japan was not better. Those choreographies, costumes, lack of coordination :(

Not surprising. Some are already working on next year’s programs & they only had a few days to rehearse vs the week plus that they had in the old days. I miss that. :( hoping they have it figured out soon. Even after this weekend, they’ll have a 5 day break before the next group of shows. Impossible to get consistency.

You're right. During the older days, they could afford at least three weeks of preparation with professional skaters, who did not have to worry about competition schedule. JSOI was right after the Milano World. US SOI was the following week, which did not give much preparation time for the skaters.

Add me to the list of people who's disappointed DC isn't part of the tour. I can understand why cost would make it difficult to add to the list, though. It's just a shame.
I'm actually closer to Greensboro, NC. But I figured DC would be more likely to be on the list since it's a bigger city.
I wonder if they looked into bringing it to Greensboro. I would think cost would be less prohibitive and weren't nationals held there in past years well attended? Demographic is there. :/

I was also a little surprised DC wasn't on the list, but then at the same time I wasn't. And from reports some shows are still not selling out even in an Olympic year. The last time I saw skating locally was 2003 worlds and maybe whatever Champions on Ice was after it which was in the same arena. And that is a pretty pricey spot in our Chinatown. Now if I want to watch skating in DC, it's going to be hockey seeing the Caps play (which I did last week actually, lol).

SOI has become just a glorified US Nationals exhibition, which, in 2018, means a bunch of Olympics also-rans, with exception of Meryl and Charlie (from an earlier Olympics). Where are the true stars & winners of the Olympics, like the Russian Ladies, V/M, P/C, Hanyu, Javi, Uno, Aliona & Bruno, etc? That’s the sort of international line-up that we us

I am more into international skaters so for me at this rate I'm more likely I fly to Japan for a show than to check out what we have domestically. And I guess that makes sense as I will spent more money to go to Worlds (in Helsinki) and Olympics than I'd spend to go to Nationals. I figure most of the US skaters who I like I'll see at those events anyway. But in terms of the current format I try to think of how the pie is split already among the current cast. Part of me thinks a reason they keep it separate is so that more money will go to the skaters. You can add the Canadian cast but will that lead to significantly more seats filled to make up the difference? And their dates appear to overlap quite a bit so the tour would have to last longer than intended I think if they want to hit all north american spots together. That makes me wonder about training for the next season.

I have zero complaints about the cast, not that I wouldn't adore to see Aljona and Bruno!!! Even though I don't care for SOI in general (the kid-centered narration drives me up a wall) I would go in a heartbeat if it were closer. It would be 5 hrs of driving or 8 hrs of public transportation, getting home around midnight... I just can't. I don't understand why they eliminated the Newark show -- it's a lot easier for the fans in Manhattan as well as northern Jersey.

Excuses, excuses. Totally unprofessional, if SOI is asking spectators to pay for tickets. This sounds like a loser tour slapped together at the last minute.
