I just watched that movie the other night on CMT as I was trying to go to sleep.

I'm not a fan of twang twang country music but her music was so unique esp for the times. It was so sassy. While Tammy Wynette was singing that horrible Stand By Your Man she was singing about female empowerment, taking no prisoners.

I saw her live in DC ten years ago. She was creaky and not all there in her patter but hell could she still sing.

I grew up listening to Loretta Lynn. She is my mother's absolute FAVORITE! I think I know just about every word to every song she sang in the 70's and 80's. RIP to a true legend and American treasure.
