March With Me was all the rage in the early 2000's in skating, and for some reason, something that always sticks with me is that I remember Terry Gannon announcing the title of the music for a pairs team IIRC, and saying ' they're skating to Montserrat Caballe - which means March With Me' RIP.
She was one of "my" first sopranos and I still revere that unique, wonderful voice, the kind they don't make any more. She was a late iteration of the Golden Age of singing IMO.
I also always remember a review of her and Pavarotti in Tosca that called them a pair of butterballs and said that instead of throwing herself off the parapet at the end, Caballe calmly strolled offstage.
As said, her collaboration with Freddie Mercury was amazing ... I always felt a special connection with their performance at Ku Club (Aka Privilege) in May of 1987.
