Italian composer Ennio Morricone has died aged 91

Oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone, who was famed for writing the scores to Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Westerns, as well as the music for The Mission and Cinema Paradiso, has died aged 91.

I was just coming to post this. Morricone did so much amazing work, and he will be missed.

There have been plenty of Morricone-based programs in skating, but I wouldn't be averse to a few more in the coming seasons

He had the rare distinction of winning the (long overdue) Oscar after being given the lifetime achievement award. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
This is one of the most beautiful uses of music in film ever

Just saw this news. The first thing that came to my mind was Lady Caliph, used by B&S for their 2002 music. I have a CD of Morricone’s music. It includes many beautiful pieces, including Cinema Paradiso. He was wonderful. R.I.P.
