"It's about time we stop taking for granted the preciousness of each day and start living in the full experience of kindness and coherency.” --Jean Trebek

It was on at 8pm here but I didn't realize it and was in the middle of a meeting anyway.

It was weird hearing Jennings host Jeopardy. Not bad - I actually think he did a great job - but weird. Just so used to hearing Trebek's voice.
To be honest, I think of all the guest hosts they have booked/are going to use, Jennings got the tough assignment. Being the first new episode after Trebek's last can't have been easy.
I thought his tribute at the beginning very appropriate.

I thought so too. I've seen him on other game shows and he is more personable than he was under the stress of playing the game. He's seen and been on the show so many times, he knows the drill and what to say. Can we pretend like Alex is just on vacation till we get used to this?

Since Chaser picked up all of Brad, James, and Ken, I don't know how they are going to work around that. The odd thing is that the recent previews I saw only show and mention Brad and James. So maybe they are editing Ken out or making the push for Jeopardy to him?

I thought Jennings was fine, but I wish he had a stronger and lower voice. DH and I both were struggling to understand him at times.
After episode 2 - yeah, his voice needs to be stronger and lower. And he is kind of acting like he knew the answer when they get them wrong. I'll see what I think after episode 3. He did say that the contestants were the stars of the show, not the host, which was nice.

Since Chaser picked up all of Brad, James, and Ken,
The Chase is only on for 9 weeks. That's just 9 shows. And only one of them is in the game per show.

I thought Ken did a good job but I am not ready to crown him the next host of Jeopardy. I want to see all the other hosts before I decide who would be the best. Of course they are not asking Me. LOL.

I felt that Ken spoke too fast. He needed to relax and slow down in his delivery. Alex will be missed forever, but I think eventually we will get used to the next host.

They announced another 5 hosts today, and said there will be more. One of the producers will be covering for two weeks after Jennings, until they tape other guest hosts. It does read like those after Jennings & the producer will be doing 1 week each. Confirmed as guest hosts were: Katie Couric, Aaron Rodgers, Bill Whitaker and Mayim Bialik.
I saw more than an interview clip with Trebek where someone asked him who he wanted to host Jeopardy when he retired and he said Betty White. I don't think she would be in contention as a permanent replacement, but if she was up to it, I would say she'd make a fun guest host for a week.

Betty is just about to turn 99 and has shown signs of slowing down in the last 5 or so years, so not gonna happen. But Johnny Gilbert IS 92 and he's still going at it without any slowed speech, so there's that.

I think it was just a joke, because of her age and the thing back then was who was going to take over if he retired. I don't think she would ever have been able to be a host of a game show like that without making a lot of jokes anyway.

Trebek is still making an impact - here's what became of the donated clothes:
“Alex Trebek was a sharp-dressed man, and now I’m wearing his suits? Amazing,” he said. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity. I’m hoping to better my life, and looking presentable in the workplace is a step in the right direction.”
BTW, you don't need to put links into a URL shortener unless they have problematic words.
