Oh no! I was such a 90210 fan. And while my love for Riverdale was waning, Perry's character remained a constant favourite. Dylan McKay is such an iconic role, but he also did some strong work on other projects, especially OZ. I am very sad. He was so young.

It is young, but I've had stroke patients in their 20s. Sometimes caused by drugs or other substances, sometimes caused by untreated (or undertreated) hypertension, sometimes just unknown reasons

Could be related to his past or current lifestyle or an unseen congenital issue.
A good friend of mine had a stroke last year at 47. He was a bit of a partier and he smoked. and our initial thoughts were it was because of that, himself included. But turned out he had a congenital heart issue that was never detected.

I am so very sad by this news.

I adored his "Goodnight for Justice" series, especially the "Queen of Hearts" episode. My heroes have always been cowboys and Luke Perry was a very appealing one.

RIP, dear Luke.

My bedroom walls were plastered with 90210 posters back in the day, and I started watching Riverdale since I saw Luke was playing Fred Andrews (Archie's dad). Although my favorite role of his may be on an episode of the Simpsons as Sideshow Luke Perry. I went to a Simpsons-themed trivia night last month with some fellow FSUers and I even named our team Sideshow Luke Perry. This sucks.

The original 90210 was a guilty pleasure of mine and I adored Luke Perry and his character of Dylan. This is so sad as 52 is so not old.

No idea whether he drank or smoked, but he said in one interview I found that he was eating a steak a day until his cancer was found, so maybe clogged arteries contributed...

He was so pretty in the 90s especially. Sad.

He worked road construction before getting his big break and didn't wear sunscreen which contributed to his wrinkly screen. I'm not sure if he was ever a smoker or not.
