I set mine for the whole coverage from 8 a.m. to noon Eastern already - CNN. There is supposed to be some kind of wreath laying ceremony at 8:30 a.m. I'm really interested in what President Obama says. (Hey, they keep saying Vice President Biden, not "Former"...., so I'm sticking with calling Our President President.)

I have specifically noticed that they say Former President Obama more than they have ever said Former anybody else. Makes me mad. I mentioned on here years ago that they (news people) said Mr. Obama too much when he was President, but would always refer back to "President" Bush. The crawls usually say (I'm not capitalizing any of this on purpose) "president donald j. trump"....... Yeah, unfortunately we know who he is. I like that the guy who was his biographer (name escapes me at the moment) always refers to him as "Donald".

I remember when he ran for President against Obama how the press made fun of him because of his age and would point out his physical shortcomings like the fact that he couldn't lift his arms above his head. Then they questioned his service saying it was his fault that he was captured. Now that he is dead, they say all these nice things about him. Politics in the US is so phony.

I'll never forget Trump saying how he preferred his heroes not to have been captured.

At the time I thought it was a particular low point, not being able to fathom how much lower he could go.

I am so disappointed! Of course I started recording the show again. Still disappointed that I missed the start.

I remember that very well. Although I think it was more campaign ads than the press, IIRC. I am glad they're honoring him now, but I wish people could take the kind of perspective they're showing now and show it again during political battles. Politics would be a very different animal if we could.

The 2 McCain sons in military uniforms - really have been the rocks during this - from what I have seen (I have watched sporadically).

And I love the clip of Bush giving Michelle some mints.
they have been caught before being buddies when sitting/standing side by side.
I am not a supporter of Bush - but he really does seem like a nice friendly person.
After the service - I saw a man of the cloth from the service getting a selfie with Bush.

Seeing Henry Kissinger - just seems like such a blast from the past compared to folks even like Bob Dole.

I cannot IMAGINE going through all this when you've just lost a loved one. I remember being so grateful that my grandma hadn't wanted a funeral, because I wasn't sure I could make it even through that much. My heart goes out to the family.

I had to look it up... he’s 95. Funny how perspective changes things. He seemed like such an old fogey when he was Secretary if State, yet he was only in his 40s.

That's what I was thinking earlier. The family has my utmost admiration for going through so many public events at such a difficult time. And I can't believe that some people are attacking Meghan McCain for her eulogy and are criticizing that political statements were made. He was her father. She can say whatever she wants. And he was a politician.

What I got from the service is that it is impossible to understand why trump hasn’t been impeached and removed and even why he was allowed to become president. The values of America should have forbidden such a thing and it’s baffling snd incomprehensible how such a disgusting anti American figure is president. Hopefully everyone in Washington watched this and impeaches and removes trump after the recess is over.

What is the TV schedule fir Sunday? I think the burial is going to be a ori ate ceremony so they may not show it at all. May be there will be comments later.

Cindy looked very poised and strong to me throughout this ordeal. That makes me admire her.

I missed the eulogies by Pence, Ryan and McConnell. They were probably sincere but it doesn't mean they will have a change of heart when they are back to work. Still it was good to see people putting their differences aside and devoting this time to McCain and his grieving family.
