I wish I could find the clip from her appearance on the Tonight Show, where I heard the duet for the first time.
It was even better than this; so wonderful that I wept.

I looooooved Natalie Cole. Got to see her in concert around 1985 when her album "Dangerous" was out (a very underrated album, by the way). This was before her "Everlasting" concert, so the crowd was sparse...and did she ever KILL it. She was so powerful and on her game that she had one of her background singers perform a duet with her and if it hadn't been an outside concert, they surely would have blown the roof off the place. It was one of those moments when you thought anybody in the vicinity was not here witnessing this amazing-ness...well, they were just IDIOTS! Her death is such a loss, but gratefully we have a LOT of amazing music she left behind. Her U.S. Top 40 hits:

She was apparently - having cancelled a New Years Eve appearance amongst others. She had an amazing voice and will be sadly missed.

Fantastic! Both of them were such beautiful singers & the harmony was great. That said, my favorite "Say a Little Prayer" is the one in "My Best Friend's Wedding".

My mother was a huge fan of Nat King Cole and I remember when Natalie Cole came out with her first records my mother loved it. Memories. RIP, Natalie.

My father went to the small jazz clubs where Nat King Cole made his reputation in the late 1940's.
He was a fabulous pianist and singer; as was his brother, Freddy.
I've collected recordings for as long as I can remember.

We continued to follow Natalie's career through all its' ups and downs.
I agree with the post upthread; that surely she and her father are singing duets, now.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to do this. I have several records and an album of hers, and I have to say that Natalie definitely inherited her dad's talent of singing. I fell in love with the first song you listed the first time I ever heard it.

Natalie was definitely a Sophisticated Lady, and I'm going to miss her very much as I know others here will, too. What a beautiful lady, and she had a heart of gold. My condolences to Natalie's family. Rest in Peace, Natalie, and God bless. <3
