One thing about Simone is that she seems extremely harsh on herself. She is furious with herself if she makes any mistakes. She might seek intense, perfectionist coaches to match her own energy.

She has four other very strong athletes with her on that team so I can easily see them watching out for her. :respec:

I get up for work super early anyway so I will definitely be checking out the Peacock stream of the two podium trainings this week. That's very cool that they are providing that for us. :)
 
The floor ex mat looks slippery. Guys sliding onto their butt on landings. Also, the podium upon which the floor ex sits is quite small. Two instances of guys taking several big steps out of bounds and almost falling off the edge of the podium.

Brody is not wearing his knee brace.

I kept waking up randomly while it was on and I saw Brody putting it on at least once and then sliding his pants over it. May be that he has a new, less bulkier brace but he still has one.

The guys wear shorts for floor ex. Brody was not wearing it during floor ex. I think he might have had it on for high bar dismount.
 
In other news, Shawn Johnson is shilling PragerU on her IG. Yuck ...

Also, saw Simone and Suni eating pizza in the village. I'm so glad the new regime is letting them out and letting them eat. So many US gymnasts have spoken about the mental toll of being squirreled away in hotel rooms and not being allowed to eat or socialize at meets during the Marta era.

Someone posted a pic of the whole women's team eating together a couple days ago. I'm also glad they're in the village and getting a fun Olympic experience.

They were carb loading with pasta. And lots of fruit. They all seem to be having a great time. It's fun to see. Very different from when Aly felt she had to sneak a power bar in an airplane bathroom.

I'm glad that they show replays. The live time is terrible for me.

Even watching them do PH in training is nerve wracking! :lol:

Khoi posted an IG story the other day of him practicing his PH routine. It was lovely. Timing is everything. :( At least we know he is ready to go if he is needed as an alternate.
 
Any chance the G.O.A.T tour is going to be filmed for TV? You'd think this would be a good year for it. Can't NBC offer up even a single 2-hour daytime weekend slot for this?
