GPdF 2025 PBP - Rhythm Dance: “Rock Around The Cock”

I said it after they debuted at DTM and I'm going to say it again - this is one of the best RDs of the season. The music, their look - it's 100% pure '90s in a way that most of the other RDs fail to capture. Definitely some nerves today, I felt - possibly related to the very recent music change - but still quite good.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I actually liked Diana and Gleb today. Not the music but the actual skating.

Someone send a welfare check to make sure I haven't had a stroke.
Don't worry, the skating is much improved.

I will refrain from joining the '90s-off in here, as I was too much of a dork at the time to follow trends or even notice what anybody else was wearing. :D

Once again, 0.25 interpretation score for he who skates to a song about being too sexy for his shirt but keeps it on anyways. That's horrible interpretation to literal lyrics.

This is so predictable from start to finish, they've definitely found their genre and stuck exactly to it. And as I've been ranting for years, I don't think their skating is top 10 in the world worthy at all. Basics below both American teams, even. She's been doing this forever and he's much newer to the discipline but he literally skates circles around her and actually has some depth to the edges.

I'm really distracted by the red undertones in her dress in contrast to the dark olive green of his shirt. And the fact that her dress is in no way reminiscent of the '90s at all.

Another TES above FBCiz - let's see what the judges do with their PCS to ensure they're also behind FBCiz.

R/A

Nice unison through midline, ice coverage looks small, some nice little dance-y moments in the pattern. Technique is not as strong as top teams—but you’d never know looking at that TES score. I’d put them below the Canadians

Allison Reed/Saulius Ambrulevicius 🇱🇹
Coach: M.F. Dubreuil, P. Lauzon, R. Haguenauer
Music: I’m Too Sexy, Cantloop

Midline Step Sequence W:3 M:2
Sequential Twizzles W:4 M:4
Pattern Dance Type Step Sequence 3
Rotational Lift 4

Choreo Rhythm Sequence

It's a fun program, and they fit the music well their performance, but it's missing an element of farce that the music video has.

80.98 = 1st Place

Reed & Ambrulevicius always entertain. And this program had alot of choreographic nuance during the no touch steps and the pattern steps. Overall, the program is empty and predictable, and they spend so much time just posing & vibing to buy time before the rotational lift and choreo steps.

For a top team, the program construction is really subpar.

I've defended Charlene and Marco for years and years but I really think he aged out of his peak a few years too early. The twizzles were fine but you could see him borderline about to struggle the entire way through, which started to creep in last year.

I said a few weeks ago I'm all-in for a team that just embraces how cringe the 90s were with these dances, but I feel like they don't ever know that they are being cringe.

There's still a lot of intricacy almost quietly done to appreciate, but I really think this team is dropping to 6th or 7th at best by the time the Olympics come.
