SE interview with Trankov about Rostelecom Cup:

Translated here: https://fs-gossips.com/maxim-tranko...-taking-risks-otherwise-everything-will-stop/
Excerpt:
Maxim Trankov: My queue has ended long ago. My business now is to come to training and do everything possible so that Tarasova and Morozov return to their former level. If this works out, then it will be possible to easily climb on top without standing in a queue, you can do that with any queue. This queue is definitely not electronic, but a live one.

Are you impressed by the growth of the Mishina / Galliamov pair?
Maxim Trankov: I am very impressed by Alexander since junior times. This is potentially the best partner in Russia, due to many factors: stature, appearance, flexibility, strength, jumps. A partner without weaknesses, you just need to develop this pair. Moreover, age allows. Maybe not for this Olympics, but for the next one, they will become the main characters. If they work, of course. So yes, for me they are the main discovery of the season. I like to watch them develop.

Are there three contenders for gold at the Russian Nationals?
Maxim Trankov: Not three – more. Let’s skate, sensations are possible, for example Pavliuchenko / Khodykin – they have interesting elements, a good short program. Those competitions that were in Kazan – there were probably three main pairs and a real fight.

Someone at the rink casually mentioned that Katia and Dave were married. I posed a question a few days ago, but quickly deleted it... unsubstantiated gossip and all. They've been together for what, 5-6 years? Wouldn't exactly be a shocking development.

Ari Zakharian has lost his mind, i thought he was trying to introduce "hollywood style commercialism" into skating; he gave an interview (in Russian) and this is the heading of it...
"In America the figure skating is in poor and sad shape. Over there they understand that russians will eat them alive at the next competition".... :scream:

But at present he is rather accurate.

Jeez what about Nathan Chen? I don't think he's quaking in his boots about the Russian men, good as they are getting. Maybe in a year or two. And I do have high hopes for Kolyada but let's be realistic for now...

I don't think it's good karma to get too cocky, so I'll stay nervous for all my Russian faves.

Only in ladies and pairs. I don’t think USA is doing too bad in men and ice dance.
Oh no I agree, but objectively, with the Russian machine as it is...I don't know. I remember Anna Cappellini talking about that years ago. If there is an opportunity to place the Russians ahead, they will.

... between 2009 and 2018, Russia had two Worlds medals in ice dance. Italy also had two Worlds medals. When Sin/Kats won silver in 2019, it was Russia's first medal in dance in six years. Didn't they also have both a top team kept out of Worlds unfairly due to the bogus way meldonium was handled, not to even mention what was done to Bukin.

Between 2009 and 2018, France had six. I will leave you to investigate for yourselves how many medals the US and Canada had. My fingers can only count so high, there are just ten of them.

France had six. Guess if there is an opportunity to put the French ahead, they will. I will leave you to investigate for yourselves how many medals the US and Canada had. My fingers can only count so high, there are just ten of them. Actually, looks like ten is exactly as many as I need.
Well, I only have eight, fingers that is, as well as as a short memory, so forgive the handicap.

Ksenya Sinitsina is still recovering from illness and probably will not be participating in the events of this season. From various sources i gathered that she recovered from her earlier injury, started to train and then became ill (not KNW, but sounds like a bad cold or a flue, typical for Moscow weather, in my days November is when all my class mates go the grippe.... :) ).

So she’s sick/injured again? Something new after she & Nikita won Rostelecom?

This is the singles skater, Ksenia Sinitsina. She finished 4th at Junior Worlds 2019. Viktoria Sinitsina is, hopefully, doing well. :)
Ahhhh...Thanks for the explanation. I thought that maybe they would now have time to redo that free dance! Ha ha

5. Exhibitions - 1,6 millions
