FIFA World Cup 2018

Well congrats to France - but if those decisions had been different in the first half who knows what the result would have been as Croatia were - IMO - the better team in this final. They can certainly hold their heads up high.

Oh and Harry Kane gets the Golden Boot - so congrats to him!!
 
Didier Deschamps has won both as a player and coach! What a turn around for France! Hats off to them and congrats! But Croatia has so much to be proud off!

And he was actually the captain for that match!
(the original captain was out of the match with a card)

The rules say that the arm has to be kept close at the body's side, so it even if it wasn't a deliberate handball, if the arm is extended, it's a penalty. (I guess, their way of thinking is that by extending the arm the player knows there's a better chance that he can influence the ball than when he keeps it at his body's side).
 
I'm bummed for Croatia. They were such great fighters and they really wanted it. I didn't think they'd be able to play like this after their England game.

But congrats to France. It was a great game!

The Croatian was pulling his arm down - and every pundit I have seen stated it was not a deliberate hand ball and the BBC pundit even read out the hand ball rule and all the panel said no way was it deliberate. And the ref spent forever watching the VAR so he wasn't fully certain it was deliberate - an awful decision that altered the way the game was going!!
 
Are they going to award the trophy or not?? Seems like a longer than usual wait.
 
Mbappe (sp?) of France gets the young player of the tournament and Luca Modric (sp?) of Croatia gets the player of the tournament - good for him!!

Golden boot - Kane, Golden Glove - not sure!!
