DWTS Season 25

In that opening, of the returning stars my eyes went to Corbin. IMO he was the class of the former stars for those few seconds.

:biggrinbo Yay! Kristi is back in the ballroom!
Was just coming on here to let people know she'd be dancing but saw you guys already had the list.
I missed the opening # so may catch up later.

They are letting the judges talk for a second tonight (compared to some past nights when rushed for time). I liked how they were more explanatory (so far just saw Drew dance). I think Bruno was doing that more last week as well. I hope they don't do the whole who is safe/in jeopardy early again as it breaks flow of show and seems juvenile. Plus not fair for those who have not yet performed. Just my opinion.

Llindsay seemed a little peeved at the judges' comments on her samba. I'll give the Property Brother credit for responding tactfully when he was asked what he thought about the less than complimentary comments. I really enjoyed Terrell's charleston tonight - he's worked hard to improve each week.

I found Lindsey's samba seemed awkward and forced. I actually thought she was scored too high.

Jordan and Lindsay's quickstep was AMAZING! Based on dancing, IMO he should definitely win this season. I know he rubs some people the wrong way, though, because when he speaks it sounds too perfect and practiced (due to his Disney years).

I want him or Frankie to win.

Victoria is definitely not the best dancer, but I love her attitude and her lack of drama - even though she has lots to be dramatic about.

Kristi is such a pro - she's always prepared and gives 100%

ETA: I like these trio dances, it's fun to see some favorite celebs back again, and it's nice to see the guests giving tips to the contestants. Also interesting that most teams selected a guest of the same sex of the celebrity which isn't what I would have expected.

Loved Jordan, Lindsay and Corbin - such speed and it had a number of big tricks but they were all integrated into the dancing.

I loved the past stars coming back. Have they ever done that before for the trios? Some of the returning stars pulled my attention away from the current stars because they were much better dancers. I'm sure that was not the intention. I've been enjoying Frankie this season but Alfonso really out-danced him. IMO Jordan did the best in holding his own against his comeback star but wow! Corbin Bleu is really good. I didn't see his season so can't judge but am surprised he didn't win the mirrorball.

Alfonso is a trained dancer. Frankie has proven to be quite good, but he doesn't have any dance training.

Corbin has extensive dance training. While it's clear that Jordan has dance training, I don't think it's nearly as much as Corbin. Needless to say, that trio was incredible.

As for why he didn't win his season when he was clearly the best dancer, the answer is the freestyle. Derek created something really fantastic for Amber Riley, but Karina misfired on Corbin's. The tricks were outstanding, but the dance seemed to be a retread of Michael Jackson.

Corbin should have won his season. He did a FANTASTIC trio his year with Karina (his partner) and Witney.

Exactly. The freestyle should have been something along the lines of that trio. Instead it was a mish mash of Michael Jackson tricks. That trio was incredible. It showcased Corbin at his best.

Corbin, Lindsay and Jordan were by far the class of the field last night. In their trio I couldn't tell who was the pro, the current star, or the returning star. Absolutely brilliant!!

Three professionally trained dancers should look like three professionally trained dancers. I don't think Jordan has had quite as much training as Corbin, but if this routine had been any less the judges would have marked them down. Again, they're not being judged against the rest of the field. They're being judged against their own best.

Len has said as much to Jordan.
I think that Len really respects his ability.

Jordan wants to be the "best he can be" and live up to what he expects of himself.
We are seeing some great performances because of that.

I believe he will receive even more opportunities in the future.

Exactly!

Jordan is a profession musical theatre person. That is a big difference from a professional dancer. He didn't have dance training as a kid. Yes he can learn choreography but the dancing in Hamilton isn't at the level of "professional dancing" it's not even at the level of kids competitive dance.

Well choreographed and great production value from Mark, though I still find she can occasionally be clunky or awkward - like she can hit poses in a weird way (I don't quite know how to explain it).

Jordan and Lindsay danced well, but that song was horrible for an Argentine Tango. I agree with the placements so far (and no dance quite worthy of a 30), though I think Victoria was WAAAAY overmarked. She barely moved in that entire dance. And I don't agree with them getting to do a trio. Also, apparently they were supposed to do waltz, but Val changed it (second time this year he's changed the given dance style because it wasn't 'working')

I just adore him. Looked like he stepped in the wrong direction one bit, and of course a bit of awkwardness at times, but he held his own in that style better than I expected.

As long as the top 3 are him, Lindsey, and Jordan, I'm okay with any outcome.

I must be psychic, since last Tuesday I posted the video of Corbin's trio jazz that Drew then had to recreate today.
I personally found Drew's kind of painful to watch. He kept time the whole way, but it was awkward.

Once Victoria finally got dancing in hers, I think that was my favourite of her dances.

Holy crapballs that was insane!! By far the dance of the night. His feet looked flawless during his flicks and kicks (often the free leg looks kind of wonky). And I noticed right away that his legs were straight on the cartwheel. That was completely bonkers!!!
