UPDATE: We have a cub! ? Born at 6:35pm EST today! Mom and cub are now at Cam 2 at the above link to the Giant Panda Cam. Mei Xiang is already nursing and cuddling her newborn! Not even an hour old! ?

The cub is about the size of a stick of butter. Mei Xiang is keeping the cub under her chin in order to keep warm (I think newborn cubs are unable to maintain body temperature).
