I'm not sure I really understand all the negative comments--there are a lot of falls at Nationals. Nationals is a pressure cooker in most countries--someone earlier said something about what would the Japanese think, but did y'all see the s-show that was the men's in Japan?

CANADIAN LADIES ANYONE?!! By comparison, the Americans are skating pretty damn well so far, and a lot better than some Nationals. I mean, there have been years where all the medalists fell at least twice and skated like they were scared of the ice. At least none of the medalist had programs that completely broke apart or were unwatchable. Mistakes yes. Complete meltdowns, no.
I wish I could remember who said this, but I remember an interview where the skater being interviewed (maybe Tiffany Scott?) said Nationals was her least favorite event of the season because at international competitions, you're there as a team and your coach is there for you but at Nationals it's all individual, every man for himself, no one is saying great job, good luck, and if you skate with a lot of skaters from other countries, they aren't there. I'm sure for Japanese ladies now and back in the day Russian anything and waay back in the day American women and Canadian pairs, it was easier to win Worlds than their respective nationals.
Amber I swear seems like the nicest person ever, but she needs to maybe be less nice. Like, she kinda looks like she wants to apologize to Alysa and seems slightly embarrassed instead of saying MUHHH MEDAL. MUUHH TRIPLE AXEL. MUHH SMOOTH LIKE BUTTAH TRIPLE AXEL. SUCK IT, LOSERS.
