2025 Cup of China Rhythm Dance PBP - Rhythm is a Danger

If I wanted to see lame rendition after rendition of music I thought I liked before this season of rhythm dances, I'd suffer through reruns of Glee all day. And I despise Glee. This all is so lame.
I was cringing so hard at Zingas & Kolesnik, and "Glee" is such a great way to describe it. The expression is high school, the vibes are off, and it makes you want to look away.

Midline Step Sequence W:2 M:2 (W:1 M:2 after review)

Pattern Dance Type Step Sequence 2

Choreo Rhythm Sequence

Skating to 'I'm Blue' in bright red is a choice, but otherwise this program works wonderfully for this team. Their quirky style fits the music, and they seemed to be covering more ice than the previous teams we've seen so far.

I see the ice coverage on the twizzles has gone nowhere -- literally :-P I can't get past it. It might have even had the least coverage in this field.

Ugh. I was fully prepared to write at least they have the finish and the classiness to finish out this lame RD but even in the midline the choreography is so cheesy and he looks so awkward. Looking sticky on the pattern towards the corner to me and a little hitch backwards to finish it out. Exit of the lift she also was rough and not placed correctly.

It is what it is but this program needs A LOT more time.

The lack of ice coverage, and speed across the ice in the twizzles still not being reflected in their GOE. That technical score is not that far ahead of Zingas/Kolesnik, and I don't think the pattern dance type step sequence matched the music at all.

Seeing Chock and Bates after the French just makes it so obvious how slow they are. Those twizzles were literally in place. I do like the programme style, it suits them well, and I hope they will continue to improve, but the programme clearly isn't ready yet. Then again, that's how they usually start the season, it's just that they never seem to pay for it.

I have to say though, the minute they walked on their ice they turned on the sexiness switch. It works on me, it works on the judges it seems.

Zingas/Kolesnik skated well and I do like them, but the music was terrible. Were they all covers?
They were all by Bell Biv DeVoe and I believe none of them were covers.

I would like to start with I know part of the problem here is that I don't care much for Lenny Kravitz music, but these cuts are terrible. Like it's giving me flashbacks to last seasons RD in a bad way.
I like Lenny Kravitz and so was looking forward to this but those cuts... or ... something? Did they change the tempo on some of the songs? They just didn't sound right.

That was pretty rough and ZinKol got that enormous score. This is going to be interesting.

ETA I should have known the judges wouldn't put them in 2nd.

Oy. That has to be one of the slowest choreo step sequences I've seen in awhile.

Slight stumble coming out of the pattern step too, but shouldn't affect the TES or GOE since it looked like it was after they finished that element.

There were a couple of nice spots, where they really had some good '90s dance moves. And the music was decent, but man... The IDTC really effed up with their "dance party" extra requirements. Nothing feels much like a dance party at all.
