2026 4CC - Rhythm Dance

Ren/Xing

Twizzles 3/4 - another problem. Really crazy edgework right into their second set where they have to start the momentum all on their own. She stumbled out but wow the complexity
Midline 2/2
Pattern 2
RoLi 4

I'd put them first even with the mistake. Infinitely more complex, better skated with more command and speed.

Chinese 1 - she botched the twizzle but boy the speed, presentation and energy were really good. I really liked the pattern step element. And she was selling it.

Team Kazhakstan - Well, someone can do twizzles. They seemed to commit to the music at least. Very choppy skating though.

Actually, twizzles rocky on replay, but better than others have done.

Nauryzova/Datiev

Twizzles 1/2
Pattern 1
Midline 1/1
RoLi 3 but the position was a nice change of pace

Need work on the basics, that's for sure.

KAZ - there were not really any deductions. Was okay with the music. Picked some nuances in the pattern steps. The midline steps were probably the weakest element.

Fabbri/Ayer

Twizzles 4/4
Midline 3/2
Pattern 3
RoLi4

I wish IAM wasn't a big thing because of teams like this - so good foundations, but the programs seem often scraped together. Clearly best so far.

Fabbri/Ayer - Twizzles - Per Chris "That's more like it". Deserved L3 on Pattern Type steps (did I see them borrow from Tango Romantica?). As I'm sure Chris is about to say, they should shoot into the lead, and rightly so.

Fabbri/Ayer

Nice technique and performance, there’s a surety to their steps that is impressive, both partners were into the performance

Fabri/Ayer - that was great. The theme sat on them probably the best so far and it looked very natural for them. And I think they hit the brief when it came to what the 90s music theme is supposed to be. Speed and edges were excellent. Only thing that bugged me I think she was lipsynching which as a judge I hate.

The TR helicopter is the last part of the pattern.

Yoshida/Morita

Twizzles - 4/3
Pattern LEVEL 4 for now
Midline - 2/3
RoLi 4

Love this program

Yoshida/Morita - Hmmm, giving side eye to that L4 for her twizzles. Otherwise a workmanlike skate.

Jpn - that was good. I think they showed this program at the ISU Dance Seminar as an example of using music from their own country to show that hey it is not always going to be Ricky Martin or JoLo. The unison was a bit off at the start. The lift was really and I quite liked the ChSt

Yoshida/Morita

He breaks at waist in second set of twizzles—they were very fast but also kinda out of control, felt like the choreography didn’t let them connect to each other, some very nice speed throughout, Bourne/Kraatz style hydroblading

Holly and Jason have been getting quite a lot of coverage on social media here in Australia. SBS interviewed them and did a whole thing about Holly's ponytail and hitting Jason in the face with it.
They've been popping up on my algorithm quite a bit. I think their RD is so fun that they could hit some great mainstream coverage during the Games.

Love the green and gold dress.

Harris/Chan - D'oh, foot down on second set of twizzles. First set was slow but really well synched. Not fast, a bit messy in parts, but great presentaton as usual.

Harris/Chan

Twizzles 3/4 - I feel like they're a problem more often than not. She really struggled, barely moved and then just put a foot down altogether. And yet the GOE sitting right around 0.
Midline 1/3 and the GOEs seem like they are skyrocketing for this group...
Pattern 2
RoLi4

Didn't get much out of this. A lot of music changes, she looked tight the whole way through. I'd have them behind the Japanese I think.

Harris/Chan

Great spacing and timing on twizzles until she put a foot down on third set, skating looks comfortable and at ease with each other, good comeback from mistake

Fabbri/Ayer had much deeper edges and no errors so should go behind

Brown/Brown

I think this is the best RD of the year :-P

Midline 1/3
Twizzles 4/2
Pattern 3
RoLi 4

They need to work on their twizzles immediately. Probably even less flow than Chock/Bates but the choreography and the presentation of this dumb theme is just so good in this program. Give them all the PCS.
