2024 - 2025 NFL Training Camps, Roster Changes and the return of Swifties

Yes, we have a Justin Tucker problem. :(

Yes, it is sad.

With Commanders back on track today, I am rooting for Ravens to beat Eagles.

Well, that went swimmingly. :(

I only watched through 3 quarters. I was at my parents' for dinner and it was time to eat. I checked on the game and given the score with 3 minutes left, we decided there was no need to turn the TV back on.

The 7 points missed by Tucker would have given us the win.

Two field goals and an extra point, right? I kinda watched the game. I have to admit the Eagles look good.

Well, the Vikings continued their heart-stopping talent for last-minute victories on Sunday. I really didn't think they were going to pull that one out. Darnold came through for us in a big way. And he loves being a Viking, which makes my heart happy. 10-2 looks mighty good ... especially for a team that the pundits said weren't going to win more than six games this season. Suck it, pundits. :respec:

Thursday night it's Packers vs. Lions, and I find myself in the difficult position of maybe, possibly, having to root for the cheeseheads. A GB victory would ease the way for the Vikings to catch the Lions in the race for the division title. But truthfully, as a lifelong fan of the purple and gold, it's nearly impossible for me to be a Packer backer, even for one game.

I think my team might be a paper tiger. The defense is solid but on the offense Mahomes has no protection on his blindside. He took a beating last night. And they barely won again by a field goal that went DOINK and happened to fall through the uprights. I'm not complaining---just being realistic.

I think the Chiefs are vying for the same. Although yesterday they did brilliant time management. Still the ball bounced off the goalpost and could have been a loss just as easily as a win

Yes. Mahomes is struggling without offense linemen covering him.

The today show had a story on the Chiefs Chapel this morning. I can't imagine the hunt family truly attending church in the chapel before games without a bunch of security. But you do see lots of fans going to church in the chapel tent built on the grounds. Apparently they are waiting to see where the stadium will be before building a permanent structure.

The mighty, mighty Vikings looked exceptionally good yesterday. Darnold had a career day, for sure. If they continue to play like this they have an outside shot at winning the NFC North, given the Lions' injury woes on defense. That last game between the Vikes and the Lions in Detroit could just be for the division, which is currently the best in football. I can't wait to see what the next three weeks will bring.

The question is this: What do they do next year? Darnold is a free agent. Do you keep him or go with the rookie?

Have 3 teams from the same division ever made the playoffs before?

My money is on them putting the franchise tag on him if we make a playoff run. I know they don't want to mortgage the future because we have McCarthy, but... how can we let him go if he continues to ball out like this?

I have to admit I've been enjoying the creativity of their celebrations. But I also find it pretty amusing that they actually rehearse this stuff.

My Sunday afternoons have reverted to watching football. My poor husband wandered off to the movies. I think the Commanders can beat the Saints and the Steelers beat the Eagles later. I hope.

My Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays have been dedicated to football since the 80's. It was a matter of can't beat 'em join 'em with my brothers and dad.

My husband and my son's ignored me. When my oldest was dating his now wife, she joined me having lived in a Packers house growing up.

Several times DH and DS #1 were asked who their football teams were. They responded our houses are backwards it's wives that watch football. Even now - oldest grandson and I talk all the games. If it's not Chiefs, I think my husband tunes us out

I miss my stepdad. I was the only sports fan out of the five kids/stepkids and he loved watching games with me. We lost and won $20 a game for years when the Eagles played the Redskins.

Husband is not a sports fan at all, not even soccer which all Israelis I know love. At least he goes to skating with me.

Honestly, until my dil - I had no one to watch with. I was never, ever going to do iowa-iowa state- nebtaska trash talking. Dad was Dallas Cowboys fan.

Yay, Eagles! (today anyway ;))

Is there a snowball's chance that the Ravens could beat the Steelers next weekend?

Better than the Commanders’ chance of beating the Eagles. They were a mess today and won because of a stupid Saints decision in the last ten seconds.

I think there is—which will make them super po’ed when they play the Chiefs on Christmas. I want to talk to the NFL scheduler. Three games in eleven days for any team is asking a lot.

Especially as the season winds down. My neighbor who played for the Bills in the late 80's told me last year, every single player body at this time of the season is hurting/injured. He said most are getting cortisone shots into joints most weeks.

They played few games back then. He emphasized. EVERY. SINGLE. PLAYER. Sure, they get paid. But they also give up their bodies for our entertainment.
I don't remember Black Friday - generally college football games or Christmas - generally NBA games as routine. I think the Chiefs are playing both days.

Football is not like other sports. They are being slammed by guys who weigh 220 or more time after time. At breakneck speed.

3 games in 11 days is a lot.

I would just consider sitting Mahomes. I know they want to keep home field advantage and will lose the tie-breaker to Buffalo should they lose two out of the next three. But man...no left guard is killing us though Tuney did well playing out of position. Also it doesn't feel like their year. Of course I said that last year and look what happened.

About Buffalo: If they can't get to the SB with a QB playing that well....I'm taking a good, hard look at the coach.

Vikings are now officially tied with the Lions and the Eagles at 12-2, with an outside shot at the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Not bad for a team that everyone said would be lucky to win 7 games this year.
