2018 Japan Open, October 6 + Carnival on Ice gala

Based on Russian source Maria Sotskova will replace Carolina:

Now I'm worried what happened to Caro...
On italian TV and to the press she said that her hip injury and the tendine issues are being felt and she wants to keep it safe for the Grand Prix participation. Few days of therapy treatment off the ice will help to recover before formal competitions.

There maybe a live stream in 3 days (will post few hours before the event in the "Kiss and Cry" section).

FWIW, we've usually just continued to use this thread in GSD for discussion of the free skates.

I have been looking forward to the up-coming JO all day. I have "high" hopes that it will be one of the most rememorable JO's I have had in years, hopefully all the skaters come because nothing in this World is more sadder then something withdrawing during, or from, a JO.

I am so amazed with Nobunari's performance. He is 31, has a demanding job and family (3 boys), and he nailed 4T-3T, 3A-1Eu-3S, clean 3A, got level 3 and 4 for spins and steps (in addition to such entertaining performance)!? And he did not even look tired after all of this. What a stamina he has.

I am sure he is motivated by his passion to entertain the audience, but this certainly requires will and determination to keep himself in good shape and continue to train both on and off ice.
