Great additions. Particularly wonderful opportunity for Gabby and Deniss in particular!

He's doing Kinki Regionals October 5-8.
Unless JSF (who has yet to make a statement about Dai's come-back) decides otherwise.

Too bad. I don't think Japan Open is official enough as a competition to give him a bye?

I think it depends on Dai himself. The impression I got from his interview is that he does not want to participate in international competitions. Rather, he wanted to have a proper ending to his career IN Japan.

Oh, so he isn't aiming to perhaps score a GP invite? or possibly making Worlds / 4CCs?

Thanks. I suppose it's more realistic to aim for just memorable performances and not results. He doesn't need to prove himself anymore anyway.

I hope he gets the satisfaction he wants from a great Nationals (but still comes back again next season anyway).

Indeed he doesn't. Four years after his retirement he is as big and as loved as ever, possibly even more. What he has achieved nobody can take it away from him.

He has reached the status of untouchable. He can do what he wants now.

Nice to see Kana and Chris are actually still performing together. Maybe they will reconsider the split??

In addition, the Carnival on Ice Gala has a slightly different cast than listed above:

http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/coi2018/skater.html

It includes Jason Brown and Maria Sotskova as well as the Japan Open participants.
