The Dance Hall 13: When You Dance on the Ice and Your Feet Twizzle Twice, That's Amore

So much for parental weekends with child. I’m all in favor of going your own way after divorce, but if there are children, staying close enough to see them regularly should be a priority.
Have they made their custody arrangements public? Perhaps their son will spend part of the year in Italy and part of the year in North America.

Regardless, it may be only a matter of time before Babs presses the button on her stopwatch and gives Charlie the stare of death.

:watch:

I never expected anything like this, the marital rumours or an ego, from Charlie White. He has literally been the human form of a golden retriever in many ways. I figured Meryl was the darker/more interesting half of that partnership.

I find myself impressed almost. Maybe Ben Agosto would be more shocking.

I know. Still shocked of this behavior coming from someone like him. It is impressive, 20+ years of being know was a kind person - then suddenly bamn. He had such a clean reputation and all everyone talked about is how kind he was. Midlife crisis must had hit him HARD

And early - he's not even 40!!!

While I'm an unendingly curious person, I'm not sure I want to know what made Charlie turn heel so dramatically.

Charlie is 38, my daughter’s age. That is not midlife.

I also thought he was the nicest guy around except for Ben. But some Hollywood stars turn mean when they lose the spotlight, maybe that happened here.

What having a kid, trying operating an ice dance school during a impending recession, and living under the Trump administration does to a mf 💀

In all seriousness, I did even know that he was only 40. 2010 and 2014 felt like eras ago (granted I was born in 2007, 1st year DW turned seniors). Does it excuse what he did. Absolutely not. Does it possibly explain why he turn such a shrap left. Mabye
I'm no fan of Trump but I don't think he is to blame for Charlie cheating on Tanith. And I don't think the economy is to blame either. Cheating has happened during all presidential admins and economic circumstances.

And no, Charlie is not "midlife".

I'm not sure any of us are in a position to determine whether or not 38 is "midlife" for another person unless we have intimate knowledge of the age people in someone's family tend to die. My dad passed away at the age of 76 and 38 was, for my dad, the midpoint in his life.

In hindsight, on a personal level, yes. But in terms of a life phase, midlife does not start at 38.

Midlife is generally acknowledged as one's early 40s to early 60s; with increases in longevity and health, the range continues to be redefined upwards, with some now arguing that mid-life begins at 45, not the "classic" age 40.

I agree with you. But I doubt anyone in Michigan wanted to hire him. Igor doesn’t need him, and the brazen way he blew up his involvement with his skating school (allegedly trying to put his unqualified adultery partner on staff) during an Olympic season doesn’t show good judgment on his part.

Do we have any proof that his girlfriend is unqualified? There are great coaches who were not at the top of the standings or even in elite senior ranks, and some people are specialists. One example is Neil Wilson, who was a great, great spinner, but couldn’t buy a 3A or even 3Lz when I saw him compete.
