The Dance Hall 13: When You Dance on the Ice and Your Feet Twizzle Twice, That's Amore

I am aware of that and that was your point that I was responding to. Having everyone ignore something isn't really a good thing. And, again, I am not happy when tech panels don't even review a problem. There needs to be the same level of scrutiny for all the skaters.

Isn't it though? I mean I genuinely don't know, but were others punished from willy-nilly mistakes then? I do think it's outrageous that CZ and CH judges gave them GOE 4 for clearly poorly executed twizzle, but others did note it to varying degree. On the other hand, about the rotational lift, none of the judges saw a problem, not even those whom overall placed Americans #1, or the one judge who gave negative GOE from the twizzle. So that, at least, is consistent judging.

I have been a sport judge, and one of the main lessons we were given was "It's not a big deal if you screw up, if you screw up same way for everyone".

All I care about is that R/A had fun and did well. And, hopefully, that someone posts the video of their RD and it stays up long enough for me to see it, because I'm not signing up for yet another streaming service just to watch the Olys even if it is free.

What is actually happening in this forum right now? The way people are going after Cizeron is kind of insane. You’re calling out the psychological abuse Guillaume is accused of by Gabriella — which is fair — but some of the stuff being said here feels just as toxic, if not worse, than what you’re accusing him of.

Is it really that hard to say you’re disappointed without turning it into straight-up mockery and humiliation?
And i’m not even a fan of the guy...

I actually am a fan of Cizeron's skating; he's an incredible talent. It's his character that's in question, not his skating.

Anyway, nobody else would be able to win the Olympics with a cloned sheep.

Perhaps this particular community isn't your speed...

For what it's worth, poking fun at Cizeron and his ego is mostly pretty light-heearted IMO.

And I do like that in the discusssions on the more problematic aspects at IAM, no one here is shouted down. Personally, I think the situation is complex and there are no Disney villains. No one has attacked me for stating this here. Social media spaces can be much dicier on difficult topics like this.

Sorry if my message sounded kinda harsh. I posted it super late and I was tired.

Bu yeah, exactly. Social media can be really depressing, and this forum actually stands out because people usually keep things respectful, even when opinions are strong. And yeah, important topics aren’t being brushed aside. The questions about IAM are obviously legit, considering everything that’s been said and written over the past few years.
I’m not criticizing what’s being said these days, just the way it’s being said.

The Olympic context creates this huge pressure bubble, first for the athletes, obviously, but also for fans who care so much about the sport. Every four years, people kind of explode and let all their emotions out in an over-the-top way. That’s human, and I get that people need spaces to vent.

I just wanted to say that jokes are never really “just jokes.” They add to the psychological pressure athletes are already dealing with all the time...
I didn't mean to offend anyone, just to point out that this conversation was starting to take a weird direction.
