I love watching Athing Mu run. It looks like she's just casually jogging down the track. Also she did a year at Texas A&M, so I'm required by alumni law to cheer for her.

I love these new young ones... Mu is so statuesque. So happy for Sydney and really happy for Noah... I was worried watching him in the rounds and the 100m but finally looked like his old self! And I'm impressed with Harrison doing both high jump and long jump, wow!

Being more concerned about a piece of cloth and a song than actual human lives is not a good look.

Oh okay.
Personally, I wish they wouldn't play the anthem at most sports competitions. Though Olympic Trials, where athletes are competing to represent their country, is probably the aptest sporting event for an anthem so I can't complain too much about them doing it here. I just don't know why they didn't do it first thing in the AM and picked one particular medal ceremony to do it while not doing it at the others. It does seem like a setup.

And it makes no sense to do it for a podium ceremony in this situation as every podium member is from the US.

They don't do it for the medal ceremonies at those trials. Apparently they play the anthem once a day, and it just happened to "coincide" with this particular medal ceremony. It does seem odd it happened for this one and no others.

Yep - I knew it was going to be gone soon. And I think both the men’s and women’s 400m hurdles WRs are going to drop again this season. Maybe in Tokyo.

I don't know if it's changes in technology, technique, or a year of restricted competition due to the pandemic, but it seems like the stage is set for an amazing track & field meet at the Tokyo Olympics.

It doesn't matter if the drug is harmless or even legal. As an Olympic level athlete she should know it could show up in testing and go without it for the duration.

Definitely not a PED but I assume it's on the list to prohibit athletes like drivers from driving while under the influence.

We can debate the merits of whether or not marijuana should be on the banned list or not, but the point is that as of now it is. As a professional, it is up to the athlete to make sure that they do not take any banned substances. It’s very simple.

Heck, 99% of frequent users in my area know that it can take up to 3 weeks to be able to produce a clear sample. For a pro athlete not to know is beyond my comprehension.
