The Dance Hall, Part 4: To Helsinki & Back -- Seeking Rhumba Magic ...

^not really zilam. I just find you sometimes a bit reactionary and you tend to exaggerate.
Although I do agree you make valid points at times.
Allezfred is a staff member, which may or may not mean he/she is a moderator.

then a staffmember should behave with exemplary behavior as indicated in the Terms and Conditions, as reflective of the values of the owner

You are entitled to your opinion. I have twice tried to steer the conversation back to the topic at hand. Maybe it'll be third time lucky:

So, I am really loving the Latin SDs this season! What does everyone else think? :saint:
Ha ha.
I actually don't get all the negativity to be honest with Latin
My biggest issue is the music cuts and the requirements have hampered the skaters a bit.
But I like quite a few of the dances.

Hip hop ended up being quite entertaining once the season started. OTOH some Paso SDs were difficult to watch. Latin ones should be fun.

The lack of self-awareness is becoming borderline comical. It's like watching Stepanova skate.

and are you referring to the "exemplary" behavior of the STAFFMEMBER? ;) or are you actually talking about the skating of the teams? let's clarify things further here, shall we?

I actually don't think it is really dumb.
I think it is interesting what is expected or not from the moderators on this forum.

I'm not a fan of FSU mods acting like brats but that's been Allezfred's shtick forever.
And as long as the owner is ok with it, he can do what he wants.
The ridiculous overreactions and free speech rhetoric are frankly embarrassing and a waste of everyone's time.

oh so let's just let moderators/staffmembers get away with acting like brats? just because that's their ancient behavior despite the responsibility of being moderator/staffmember? i thought only the owner has free speech here. isn't it that with power comes responsibility?

i would've thought the owner would want his/her staffmembers to behave rationally in the forums as reflective of professional values

Anyhoo!
Did people watch the SD's on the live stream or in the videos posted.
Weirdly the music seemed out of sync with the dancing.
It was like I was playing the music live at home set to the backdrop of skating.
It's why I won't say too much of P and C's SD yet.
I watched the video posted on goldenskate.

This is FSU, we want our mods to have their authentic personalities and be fun. Their job isn't to remain neutral when it comes to actual skating/non-skating discussions. @zilam98, you haven't been discriminated against, and you have been allowed to go on and on about your displeasure with @allezfred for the past few pages. You've been allowed to fight back with him, respond to his posts, insult him, and rant and rave to your heart's content. Nobody stopped you or censored you even if they asked you to move on. People are allowed to disagree with you and respond to you if they don't like what you have to say. Big deal, you can move on or keep responding to the subject.

oh! can we have a clarification then of what it entails to be a staffmember/moderator? what's the definition of a moderator?

Also, I wrote a really self-centered post above about being the poor Canadian stuck in the middle of V/M and P/C and now I am not going to get any attention at all.

HAHAHAHHAHAHHHHAHA!!! KIDDING.

i would love to be a MODERATOR if it entails being allowed to be a brat in the forums without resultant responsibility (hey, it's my authentic FUN personality! ;) ) instead of actually helping to MODERATE discussions as is expected of the term moderator

Zilam. I think it's been made clear that the moderators here on FSU are not expected to moderate in the traditional sense of the way moderators usually operate.
I personally wish there was a little more neutrality, especially since if there is none and someone in a sense has the power to shape discussions...but alas that isn't the case on this forum.
They choose to run things they way they do.
I have no issue with discussing it back and forth, perhaps in a different thread, but shaking your fist as the sky constantly because it isn't run the way you expect is getting you nowhere and alienating you from other posters.
However I will say that being a staff member etc doesn't and shouldn't mean you get to say and behave however you want.
Not saying Allezfred you are doing this, but you do IMO often provoke or poke the bear.

Why is this nonsense cluttering the dance hall thread??? Go make a post on "Board Business" if you want to learn how to sign up as a moderator.

tell that to the staffmember/brat admin

and thank you for the recommendation. i might just make it real ;)

^
Maybe on your own board that you can post on and agree with your own posts at the same time. Keep fantasizing!

heck why not? moderators/staffmembers have free reign to behave in the forums however they want, don't they? ;) apparently the terms and conditions don't apply to them with regard to free speech

I’m predicting as the season progresses another team will achieve the highest score in the SD. Hubbell/Donohue? Chock/Bates?
