German Skating News - Part 3

I know I already cheered on German pairs, but I have to say I'm really eager to see H/S again, especially reading they have a new SP perfect for them. In my ears it sounds like the developed nicely since last year. Good for them! Too bad there's only two spots for Euros, they were so close to getting three. 2+12 is not 13, right?

I don't have to say how crazy I'm awaiting Aljona and Bruno's programs!!

It is music without lyrics. :)

That's too much information! - I was hoping for words. But then, think again, they can do anything. Gee, now I'm thinking of Fame.

Could maybe ever deliver a message? I've never seen a long time favourite of mine win an Olympic gold medal, could they make this specific audience happy for a change?

BTW, I'm glad about the lifts being breathtaking.

Disastrous outing by Isaev at JGP Latvia. :yikes:
Ranked 30/35 with 30.46pts.

There was a junior monitoring before the season, or?
No way Scheidt could have been worse than that. Sorry.

I totally don't get why her team decided to go for the 3lutz, when the attempt is that poor. She looked totally out of shape (jump-wise), so why don't go for a clean double?

I just hope she can somehow put out a redemption skate in the free, but I fear for the worst :shuffle:

Kristina Isaev with 57.78 in FS, 88.24 in total. Three falls in the FS. Seems things did not work out well for her in Riga.

Don't be too harsh with her, we know she can do better.

I won't dagger the wounded heart, but to be honest: that did not look like she could do much better (right now).
Finishing 30/35 with 88pts. in total is :yikes:

She looked pretty laboured ion the 2nd half; don't know if she injured or her has had no stamina at all. That was a rough outing; hope she can bounce back.

Instagram post by Robin Szolkowy of the german pairs camp

Great to see him and Aliona back together in one picture!
It's great how he plays a role in the pairs program and it's great what role model Aliona is for the youngsters.

I agree.

But I think the relationship between Robin and Aljona has never been really bad. Even after and during their split. Robin seems to be a person you can hardly have odds with. He is too calm and reserved.

I remember Aljona mentioning that she asked Robin if he would like to help her and Bruno as a coach after they had split with Steuer in 2014. But Robin has already started working with Mozer.

Isaak Droysen finished 11/26 (160,01pts) in his JGP in Riga.

I liked his charm and charisma in the sp, did not see much of that in that in the free unfortunately. the music mix is kinda bizarre too with the pop/opera mix, though i cannot say that i didn't like it :D
Without a triple axel he really needs to nail the rest of his jumps.
I prefer him to Hess, but Hess obviously has the better weapons.

Matthaei/Pfisterer ended up 9/14 (102,28pts).

The FD seemed pretty laboured to me, she does not seem to be in best shape. The SD was way better than this.

Charise MATTHAEI / Maximilian PFISTERER finished 9/14 in Latvia with FS 9/14: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv8ftQT6qzA

They had minor hiccups in FS, in the end almost +/- 0 GOE. They showed basically what the can do. I think the music is OK for them. They're still slow and have to put a lot of concentration on presentation of elements, so their PCS are accordingly in low 5.

IMO she should work on the her dress. I don't like seeing most of her buttocks uncovered.

Thomalla/Kunkel I did notice.

I just asked for the couple to the right, because they seemed older than the rest; let's wait and see who will last of them :p
As far as I have heard Bronisewski had try outs with that girl (someone from Russia with pairs experience). Don't put your expectations too high. I don't think we will see any of these pairs in JGP in the next years, except Thomalla/Kunkel. Hase/ Seegert and Hocke/ Blommaert were there too. I don't know why DEU does not want to have them in the picture.

Lutricia Bock got assigned for the final JGP in Italy.
Dennis Gurdzhi is listed too, and Schwendinger/Wunderlich in dance.

Lets hope Bock is 100% again and doesnt take any risk and reinjures here knee but I guess we will know soon. If she does Nebelhorn she should be fine for the JGP too.

I like seeing them spead around the mens spots too. 4 spots used going to 4 different guys!

Yes, you're right. It's Alexia Fayt. No idea where I picked up the wrong spelling.
I do ;) The Paarlauffanclub still has it wrong in their homepage ;)

Lutricia Bock just shared an article from Freie Presse on Facebook
https://www.freiepresse.de/SPORT/Das-Laecheln-ist-zurueckgekehrt-artikel9998047.php

It talks about her road to recovery and mentions that she plans her first competition to be in Nice in Mid October folled by 3 challenger events.
So I guess Nebelhorn is no longer on her plan list and the JGP is also a big question mark to me
