Kate McKinnon is up again for supporting actress in comedy. This time along castmates Vanessa and Leslie. I hope Kate gets it again! Although I think Cecily is the number 2 on SNL....

Also cool to see both Jessica and Susan for "Feud".

And both Jane and Lily for "Frankie and Gracie".

Jared Harris was robbed for The Crown. I thought he gave the best performance of that series. Oh well.

I'm so happy that Steven Universe received its third nomination, and with my favorite storyboard team. They chose a great episode to submit. Best show on TV. On the animated front, surprised Samurai Jack and BoJack Horseman didn't receive nominations. I wonder how niche categories like that have their nominees chosen. I rather have it done by a panel that dedicates their time watching animated television shows myself.

Yes to all of the nominations for The Handmaid's Tale. I hope it wins everything especially Elisabeth Moss who gave the best performance on television. I want Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie to go to either Jessica Lange or Nicole Kidman. My vote would be for Kidman who gave a stunning, quieter performance.

I'm one of Veep's fans, but I thought this past season was poorer in quality and I would not have been mad if it didn't get the nominations that it did receive. This is the first year where I felt JLD doesn't deserve the Emmy for her work here and wouldn't mind if she lost to anyone else in this category, and I didn't even watch her competition except for Lilly Tomlin and Jane Fonda.

Surprised that The Americans didn't get nominated for best drama series, though Matthew Rhys better win for his role!!! I feel like it might be given to Sterling, though. I'd push for Keri Russell as well but I think this one is Elisabeth Moss' to lose (amazing that she's been nominated 6 times before and never won).

How is Modern Family still getting all this love? I mean really?
I know Girls not getting many nominations (though some guest actor ones) surprised people since it was the last season. I know Andrew Rannells name was in the mix for supporting actor, but alas...

Actress in a miniseries will be interesting. I feel like Nicole is the favourite, but Reese might get some of the BLL votes, which could lessen Nicole's. Same thing might happen with Jessica and Susan for Feud.

Becky Ann Baker was long overdue for some kind of nomination (and Peter Scolari won last year in Guest Actor), so I think she was a good choice. The Riz Ahmed/Matthew Rhys (double nominee this year) nominations I'm fine with as well (although iirc, both only had 1 or 2 episode arcs).

I wonder if the same kind of vote splitting possible for Reese/Nicole will also happen for Laura/Shailene in supporting.

Shailene Worley's nomination in Supporting Actress is one of the biggest examples of category fraud in the history of any awards show.

Child, when we were watching it live my 3 friends and I all looked at each other and said, "Really?" Haven't laughed at that show in yrrrrsssss. The show and the acting especially seems so so so forced now.

Happy for all the This Is Us nominations!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I don't watch most of the other nominees although eventually I plan to check out The Handmaid's Tale. :)

I was going to complain about Uzo Aduba getting a nomination for Orange is the New Black instead of Danielle Brooks, but realized the season in consideration was 4 and not 5. I can't remember her storyline in season 4, but it seems like their were still stronger performances than hers? It's like they keep nominating Aduba just to recognize OITNB.

Season 4 is when we got Suzanne's backstory and found out why she's in prison.
She also had that horrific scene in the end where she was forced to fight by that guard who had real PSTD.
Those seemed like episodes that are real awards bait.
