Zingas/Kolesnik Fan Thread - They Have “It”

I'm thrilled they'll be at the GPF and also very excited to hear they've been added to the benefit in Philly on Dec 13 (as has Alysa) - I guess they and Ilia going from the GPF to the Philly show on a quick turnaround. I'm looking forward to the show!

I was going to say something after the Finlandia RD about what great consistency they've shown this season but I didn't want to jinx the FD. Now I don't want to jinx further performances this season, but really impressed by it.

They appear to be going ahead with the plan to compete at Talinn Trophy this coming week. I'm a bit worried about them competing 3 weeks in a row and was hoping they would WD to rest and prepare for GPF. I hope they will be OK.

I forgot where it was posted but someone had said it actually makes more sense for them to go to Tallinn than seek out practice ice or go back to Michigan. They’re now a team known for doing an obscene amount of runthroughs so competitions might be more lax is comparison. It also saves them from having to go backward in time zones and reduces the jet lag.

Helsinki to Tallinn is like DC to Baltimore so that makes sense. (We are planning a trip to East Asia going from Israel, it’s still long but 7 time zones instead of 14, Israel is in Finland/Estonia time zones.)

It's not the travel I worry about as much as the potential for fatigue/burnout from doing 3 comps in 3 weeks. No matter how hard they train, comps are always more stressful. But they are young, so hopefully they will be fine at GPF. And they don't have much time after that until Nats. 🤞

I share your hope that they will be fine at GPF. And at Nats!

As long as they have decided to go ahead with Tallinn, I hope that they enjoy their time there.
For Vadym, it will be a return to the same arena where Avonley and he achieved their dream of winning Junior Worlds (in 2020).
