The case has been re-classified from "armed robbery with injuries" to "1st deg. murder". Active search for the two suspects. Attorney General of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kayrat Kozhmazharov, is personally overseeing the case and the investigation. Two special units/groups, from Police/Crime Division and Dept. of Internal Affairs, have been formed to start the investigation.

Denis, NO! I can't believe what I'm reading. Why God, why? Denis is such a sweet and beautiful soul. He had so many misfortunes recently with injuries and some fans being hateful and dismissive.

My heart always went out to Denis whenever I would see him struggling on the ice trying to get back to form. His artistry was still so brilliant, even with the tech errors related to nagging injuries and resultant lack of sufficient training time. I feel right now like I've been stabbed in the heart. I was praying for Denis to find some resolution and peace with himself and his career. God's answer was to take him from this earthly realm??

Please be at peace, dear, sweet Denis. Know how much joy and pleasure you have given to skating fans, and how much you honored your country and the skating community with your sublime gifts. My heart is broken forever at your untimely loss. My only solace is in imagining you skating on a smooth, silky expanse of ice, with the angels. No more troubles ... your sweetness, your best moments on the ice, and your wise words beyond your years left behind; all faults forgiven. I love you Denis Ten.

Even just from seeing his interviews and social media presence, it was clear that Denis Ten was bright, talented and as so many have observed today - kind. What a terrible loss to his family, his many friends, and to the skating world.

Denis really had such a huge impact on the skating community. So many beautiful messages from so many detailing what a great and wonderful person he was and what he meant to them. As a skating fan, I know his skating had a huge impact on me as well and he brought so much to the sport. Such a senseless act of violence causing so much hurt to so many.

I’ll never forget seeing his performance at 2009 Worlds, live. Here was this 15-yo nobody kid from a nowhere country (in terms of skating) who skated absolutely perfectly, complete with triple axels. I thought, “No matter what scores the judges give him because he’s a nobody, he’ll always have this.”

Watching his competitive journey was a roller coaster, but he was always such a great skater. He had so much life to live yet. Jesus. Only 25.

Yes, yes, yes. I think that we were together, about to run off to the restroom, and then decided to wait to see the next skater before we went. It was Denis.

I'm in utter shock that he is gone. So danged unfair. So unfair.
RIP Denis. You will be missed so, so much.
