U.S. Women [#8]: Meet Me in St. Louis

Meet the Blade Angels!

I didn't see that one coming! Based on Amber's post with the music, I'm guessing that this was inspired by Charlie's Angels trio (while keeping a dash of the Blades of Glory that Alysa was advocating). Alysa and Isabeau haven't posted about it yet. I wonder if they are on their way to Italy. I saw that Kam and O'Shea already left.

They have? I haven't seen anything on either of their IGs (or Drew's) indicating they've left Colorado yet.

I saw a photo of them on Instagram with a message thanking a couple of people for sending them off. Maybe it was old and for Nationals? USFS did say at a press conference that skaters could start training in Bergamo early. I think he said January 24 or 25.

There was a send-off party, IIRC, at World Arena, for the three Olympians who train there. Emilea & Vadym had theirs already, and I know IceWorks had one for Bekker/Hernandez last week also.

At the Bavarian Open today, Skylar Lautowa-Peguero, now 13, won her second Adv. Novice international gold medal, landing 6 of 7 triples in her FS, including a clean 3Lz+3T - her Instagram story screenshot and results+FS protocol are in my X post: https://x.com/SylviaUnseen/status/2016532019979694137
Her National Team profile has this season's program music: https://usfigureskating.org/sports/figure-skating/roster/skylar-lautowa-peguero/1243
Since Skylar was 5th in Junior at Eastern Sectionals she was not able to compete at Nationals as the 2025 Junior silver medalist, so this is a positive end to her season.

Madison Chong (5th in Junior at Nationals; 56.66 in SP today) and Alina Bonillo (12th in Senior) also are competing in Oberstdorf this week.

Skylar Lautowa-Peguero, Caleb Farrington (2026 Junior Men's silver medalist), and Anastasia Christy (synchro skater) were announced as the winners of this year's [Mabel Fairbanks Skatingly Yours Fund] awards and the presentation ceremony was at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on January 10, 2026 (before the final 2 groups of the FD) - link to Skylar's 7 photos and a clip of her receiving flowers from Tai Babilonia onstage:
Cross-posting from the U.S. Men's news thread:
I've heard the Junior Worlds singles skaters (Jacob Sanchez, Lucius Kazanecki, Sophie Joline von Felten & Angela Shao) will be in Bergamo and will get to watch the team event - should be very exciting for them!

Hope the 3 can focus during this hyped up time. Endless interviews, Blade Angels?, oh please. Lure of fame hard to resist.
It looks like USFS put the video together using existing footage. Amber reposted it yesterday. Alysa hasn't even mentioned it other than teasing that it was coming. Isabeau reposted someone else's drawing today. So, it really doesn't seem like they are spending much time on it.

Also, it looks like most of the interviews were done before or at Nationals.

All three of the women were among the American athletes that did video and photo Olympic promotional stuff in L.A. in the midst of the SOI tour last spring.

The endorsement promotional stuff also was done pre-Nationals. Some of Alysa's promotions have been out for months. The Venus promotions clearly were done pre-Olympics; we saw Alysa's at and before Nationals and Isabeau is referred to as an "Olympic hopeful."

Isabeau's Red Bull photos and videos were done last summer and have been rolling out over the months since then, though one video (the fun skate limbo video) was released immediately post-Nationals. Her Everlane photos and videos were done pre-Nationals.

Amber also did promos pre-Nationals, including Delta. I would bet that she did the Blossom stuff pre-Nationals as well. She posted a tarte cosmetics case the other day on IG. I don't know if that is a new endorsement or a bedazzling project. (There are Olympic rings on the case.) But, she wasn't even in the photo, so it couldn't have taken that much time. And good luck getting Amber to post less on Instagram.

omg let the girlies have some fun
ITA. I have no doubt that they are having fun and also training hard and preparing. They have shown over and over again that they can do both. Alysa got her hair done in between the short program and the long program! Isabeau has said that she thrives most when she has some distraction. They're not idiots. They're not going to blow their chances at skating well at the Olympics and just stop training and preparing.

I think athletes that try to minimize any outside distraction are more susceptible to obsess and stress. I say have fun and scoop up that elusive figure skating endorsement money. Lord knows, they worked hard to get here. Just make sure to wash hands frequently and mask up in crowded places! Signed, Caryn Kadavy fan.

It looks like Alysa got her hair done again. I think it's pretty. Does this color give us a clue to her new costume? Something with golden and copper tones?

I'm only just now connecting her hair halos to the nickname Blade Angels. I don't think Amber and Isabeau are going to get halos, though.
