U.S. Women [#8]: Meet Me in St. Louis

Has Lara Naki Gutmann written all over it

But excited to see if Sarah can express enough to do this justice

 Maybe the whole point of picking that character is that she’s not a normal human and has a strange affect. With an expressionless skater, it turns a liability into an asset!
Sarah replied in some SM comments that she has seen the movie and plans on portraying a different story with her program. So, basically, she just likes the music.

Thank goodness for that. The movie just made me very uncomfortable - and not in the deep social commentary way they probably intended it to. More in the "how are they handwaving pedophilia as feminism" type of way.

I haven't seen the movie and it sounds like I would also have similar issues with the content.

ETA - just read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia and whoa... Dark, twisted, and, yes, agree with your sentiments very much.

It looks like Randi Strong spent last week working on choreography with Alysa and then with Isabeau. Maybe we are going to see some very new programs from them in the next couple of weeks.

I remember there was discussion about Claire Seo be retired. She is on the start list for Philadelphia this weekend.

Claire Seo competed at collegiate Nationals and finished second overall (second in the short, third in the free skate) to Kendall Erne.

I've never been particularly drawn to Alysa's musicality or movement on ice, but I love this dancing from Alysa. I hope she was working with Randi Strong on skating choreography in addition to this dancing off the ice:
