Has there ever been more than 3 dance teams on Stars on Ice? Does this mean Chock/Bates are out for sure?
I hope they will get a spot, at least for some shows, if not all. Without a pairs team (at least, at the moment, and for the past 4 years), it makes sense to add another dance team, particularly with the depth of dance talent in the U.S. I noticed that H/D are not listed for my show (Hershey) and some others. The website doesn't say they aren't doing all cities, but perhaps their plans are still up in the air. If H/D aren't doing the whole tour, then I would hope they'd add C/B at least to the shows H/D aren't doing. And I want to see C/B!

ETA: OK, now it looks like H/D have been added to each city. And it appears Jason will only be in the shows Nathan isn't (why can't we have Jason, too? :wuzrobbed). I still think they should add another dance team. ;)

The more dance teams there are, the more likely I'll be to buy tickets. I'm not much concerned about balance among disciplines TBH, though pairs are exciting to watch live especially I think for more casual fans (though are casual fans going to shows these days?). Chock/Bates are 2 time World medalists and that should be more than enough to be included.

Took a look at the Chicago show’s ticket situation after seeing ads during worlds and it appears very, very few tickets have sold. It’s not a big arena and it looks maybe 5% sold.

To me, the cast is just too light to consider purchasing tickets. If they’re not going to bring in international talent, I’d at least like to see more representation of top US skaters.

Kurt Browning was interviewed by the local Florida paper ahead of his guest star appearance in Fort Myers on April 18: https://www.news-press.com/story/en...r-jason-brown-and-meryl-davis-and/3376912002/
I’ll get a chance to try out my new solo before I debut in Canada for Stars on Ice. … There’s a musical icon named Gordon Lightfoot. I’m going to skate to "If You Could Read My Mind," which is, gosh, a beautiful song.
The choreographer, Sandra Bezic — who used to choreograph Stars on Ice for years — she, I think, felt like it was the right time. I’m old enough now to skate to it. The undertone to this song is really very sad. You know, he kind of covers up with the beauty of his music, but it’s quite a sad song.
...
The other program is an old friend of mine, ‘Singin’ in the Rain.’ I’m dressed just exactly as Gene Kelly did for “Singin’ In the Rain” with the suit and the hat and the umbrella. And it’s basically just taking what Gene did and putting it on the ice. It’s actually one of my favorites.
The Shibutanis debuted a program at SOI in Osaka to Daft Punk's "Doin' it Right" (video link is posted in the Japan Stars on Ice thread).

Ashley went to NYC to have Eliot Halverson choreograph a SOI program to "Dog Days are Over" by Florence + The Machine - here's a practice clip from the begining: https://www.instagram.com/p/BvUED0xBMrT/
Doing moves together with Eliot: https://www.instagram.com/p/BvPItkKBW65/

Mirai showed up in Boston to get a new program for SOI and shared SCOB ice with Ashley a few days ago: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv4bckPJu1F/
Adam Blake choreographed Mirai's program - the song is "Youth" by Daughter - and she shared clips with the backstory of the program yesterday: https://www.instagram.com/p/BwC4KeklUh7/

Jeremy traveled to Los Angeles last month to have one of his SOI programs choreographed by Michelle Dawley -- here's
a preview of his program to "Weathered" by Jack Garratt: https://www.instagram.com/p/BvAUtrWnZgN/
Better audio on Dawley's IG: https://www.instagram.com/p/BvQDESZg39G/

Vincent worked with Cathy Reed after Worlds on a new exhibition to "Made in China" by Higher Brothers & DJ Snake -- she screen capped his IG story with the info here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BwBHJ4QBHp-/
At the Worlds gala Vincent debuted a program to Joji's "Slow Dancing in the Dark" choreographed by Joshua Farris.

Nathan's Worlds gala exhibition was to "Next to Me" by Otto Knows - don't yet know if this will be one of his SOI programs?

Agree. I went to the show in Fort Lauderdsle last year and enjoyed it with Nathan Chen and Jason Brown among others. This year the only venue close to me is Fort Myers and although I’d love to see Kurt Browning I’m disappointed that there are no other international skaters and no Chen or Brown. Both the SOI Canada and SOI Japan look so much better.

Day 1 of rehearsals was yesterday - photo of Meryl/Charlie, Maia/Alex, Jeremy, Mirai, Ashley: https://www.instagram.com/p/BwSTN3pJl0c/
More photos & a brief clip of the skaters working with Jeff Buttle: https://www.instagram.com/p/BwS8BiPJYIw/

Madison/Zach arrived last night and I assume the other full-timers in the cast, Vincent & Bradie, are arriving in Fort Myers today.

ETA: Just glimpsed Bradie, Vincent, and On Ice Perspectives' Jordan Cowan on the ice in Ashley's latest IG stories and the cast is celebrating Mirai's birthday today.

ETA #2: Wagner's other SOI solo is to Deee-Lite's "Groove Is In The Heart" choreographed by Shae-Lynn Bourne.

Maia & Alex appeared on ABC7 Southwest Florida's morning news yesterday to chat about tonight's show in Fort Myers - video here: https://www.facebook.com/ABC7Southw...1685878849399/376636592934712/?type=3&theater

Jordan Cowan will be filming the numbers in the tech rehearsal before the show (action shot of 7 of the cast members rehearsing): https://www.instagram.com/p/BwZqAdRFOCi/

Charlie White was interviewed for this SOI publicity article in the Worcester, Mass. Telegram & Gazette ("Davis and White now have respective spouses." ;)): https://www.telegram.com/entertainm...team-among-stars-on-ice-april-28-in-worcester
Excerpt:
... both are taking courses at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, after the demands of ice-dancing training put what would have been their normal college years on ice.
White said he is trying to finish his undergraduate degree with a major in political science.
He has also been a presence on social media and said that now “my favorite thing is helping to build people up. How can I motivate other people with all the experiences that I’ve had?”
White’s working on a new kind of game plan.
“I’d really like to be able to write it all down in one or multiple formats,” he said. “I think about it a lot. What are the real takaways? What are the real human elements? And how can I pass them along in ways that are helpful?”

Kurt Browning has arrived: https://www.instagram.com/p/BwaBmCOpTID/
He tweeted this photo yesterday: https://twitter.com/KurtBrowning/status/1118592472794451969
Gordon Lightfoot heard I am skating to his music in @starsonice and invited me to see him perform last night. ( Wow )
An icon who changed musical history.
I never knew he was so funny too.

Thank You for the show and the extra motivation for my solo on the upcoming tour

Were there two 'Medley by Queen' programs... one from Davis/White and by Hubbell/Donohue?

Oats in the Water - that's another extremely Gadbois style track. I wonder if that was something that was short listed for an FD at some point. Same could be said for Lilac Wine also.

Shibs still love Coldplay. Hopefully we can get a video for their Daft Punk exh (sounds fun!!)
