@livetoskate, Adam was quoted about his father in the article posted earlier in this thread (link re-posted below):
and he seemed like a very nice, unassuming person).
His parents divorced when he was 13. When asked about his father, Rippon simply said “we’re not very close.” He describes his mother Kelly as “one of my heroes.”
ETA:Of all the Adam Rippon articles published ahead of the Olympics that I've read online, this one by Scott Reid of the Orange County Register includes the best quotes from his mother: https://www.ocregister.com/2018/01/...n-and-off-the-ice-on-the-way-to-the-olympics/
It's the same with Nathan's father -- NBC's fluff videos show his mother with him at competitions, skating with him, etc. His father lives in Utah and stays in the background (I happened to meet him at the U.S. Classic in Salt Lake City this past September when he was volunteering at the eventI have no idea why he isn't as vocal in support of Adam. I half wonder if it's just the media pushing the Mom narrative and ignoring a supportive father. Certainly Vincent's Dad is supportive, but he's hardly mentioned.
