Yeah, shame about that 2019 Worlds medal, otherwise he'd be a certain candidate, though I'm sure some of the TTW denizens would say he isn't voidy enough, just like Calalang/Johnson aren't voidy enough for TTW. Maybe we really should start a new version of TTW that is far more inclusive of North American and Asian skaters, lol.

I think the world medal makes him an even better candidate. Like he can get it done under pressure, but he just doesn't. :lol:

Do you keep up with this thread? Vincent in in a higher tier. There's not a 99% chance of anything. It's 100% Vincent is going, and the only battle left would be Malinin vs. Brown, which was the page all the Brown super fans were on until the long program today. But seeing how all of a sudden Malinin seems to be a given by said people...
Ross Miner had a better body of work than Ilia Malinin and look how that turned out.

Ross had competed at Worlds twice and had 3 senior GP medals to his name. Ilia has two JGP golds, which are great but not the same.
Ross Miner's tech content wasn't anywhere even on par with the top men. Malinin's is. 5 quads is top level, only two or three other skaters are doing it. There IS a difference, if they want to show the best possible result on paper.

Why don't you tell us about the opportunities Ilia has had to compete at worlds and win on the SGP? Ilia beat the bronze medalist by about 20 points here! He also had NOT competed at worlds in half a decade by 2018 Nationals, so his worlds appearances 5 entire years prior (and not skating well enough to make a world team since) did not exactly lend to a good BOW.

At this point we need to stop pretending that there was ever a question of who is going to the Olympics. Jason is going. Turn the car around and go home. Even assuming he gets to Nashville, after everything he's been through, he's probably not going to be skating his best and is going to rely on the selection criteria anyways.
Queen of bad takes. :shuffle::rofl:

Yeah but how long did it take him to win those 3 GP medals? Seven eight seasons? He had become a afterthought with US men heading into 2018.

This doesn't have much to do with anything, but anyone notice how chilly the body language is between the top US men? I can imagine the competition is very intense.
