It is quite a mystery, I remember when it happened and there was so much speculation about the cause......it would be good to know what happened but it sounds like a wild goose chase (I hope I am wrong BTW).

WRT hazing, the case in Texas sounds truly horrific. I doubt this is condoned by the university and by the national sigma chi chapter.

Dr. Salvador Plasencia was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for illegally selling ketamine to actor Matthew Perry.

Dr. Plasencia didn’t sell the particular ketamine that killed Perry, but still……

Simi Valley police say married couple's son is suspect in their deadly double shooting

The son of a Southern California radiologist has been identified as the suspect in a Nov. 30 double shooting that killed the doctor and his wife, police said Tuesday.

UPDATE: Alex Murdaugh will be appearing before the South Carolina Supreme Court on February 12, 2026 to request a new trial for the murder convictions of his wife Maggie and son Paul.

Alex also has a 40 year sentence after he pled guilty to financial crimes.

UPDATE: Oh, Lordy - This just happened!

Is Alex going to get a new trial because of this?

Update for Utah v. Tyler Robinson: A judge has ruled that Robinson can wear civilian clothing but must be kept in restraints during pretrial hearings.

The next court date for Robinson is January 16. He hasn’t entered a plea yet - is this length of time common in a capital murder case?

It seems like this hearing will be a review of the “case status” and Robinson’s defense team will argue about limiting future media access.

Here’s a very good summary of yesterday’s hearing.

I’m not sure one way or another if the judge will allow full media & public access to the trial.

The next hearing will be in mid-January. Robinson still hasn’t entered a plea yet. Is that common for capital murder cases like this?
