Update for Utah v. Tyler Robinson: A judge has ruled that Robinson can wear civilian clothing but must be kept in restraints during pretrial hearings.
The next court date for Robinson is January 16. He hasn’t entered a plea yet - is this length of time common in a capital murder case?![]()
UPDATE - Utah v. Tyler Robinson: Robinson is expected to make his first in person court appearance today at 2pm ET. Here is the Court TV YouTube link to the stream.
It seems like this hearing will be a review of the “case status” and Robinson’s defense team will argue about limiting future media access.

Oops! Six minutes into the hearing, the judge closed it off to the public & press. Sorry!![]()
I don't think we have any information on that person--although several news sources revealed his real name. Was the "person of interest" just someone in the vicinity who had guns?
Not much help, but: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/w...truggling-to-find-the-brown-university-gunmanDo they have no idea who the shooter is now?

UPDATE: Pastor John-Paul Miller, Mica Miller’s widower, has apparently remarried. And the whole story keeps getting more ?.
Authorities said Thursday that they’re looking into a connection between last weekend’s mass shooting at Brown University and one two days later near Boston that killed a professor at another elite school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
That is according to three people familiar with the matter who were not authorized to discuss an investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity. Two of the people said investigators had identified a person of interest in the shootings and were actively seeking that individual.
Just listened to both the Providence and Boston press conferences. The shooter was apparently a Portuguese national and a student at Brown (even though he was in his late 40's) so maybe that's the tie to the MIT professor who has killed, since he was Portuguese.
Yesterday Paul Mauro was reporting on Fox that his sources were telling him they found the shooter's DNA on the live bullets found at the scene at Brown, so I'd guess they're able to match that now since the alleged shooter's is dead & won't have a trial. So……I hate to feel like I need to ask this, but are they SURE that both shootings were done by this same person? I’s wondering this because there’s been so much incompetence.
They have camera footage of the same car in both neighborhoods around the time of each shooting. The perp and the MIT professor were both Portuguese nationals of the same age who went to school together and both were physics majors, so he certainly looks good for the MIT killing. And the perp is on camera in numerous locations around Brown at the time of the incident, plus he went to Brown. So yes, it certainly looks like he's responsible for both incidents. Now the question is why.

What's even wilder is that apparently he was living in the basement of the building on Brown's campus where the shootings occurred. I'd be pulling my kid out of Brown immediately after hearing that. That campus seems to have less security than my college did 30+ years ago. Thanks for the additional clarification. It’s just wild that he felt more comfortable going to a subreddit first and discussing this than going straight to law enforcement.
