Depeche Mode plays the Bridgestone arena in Nashville October 19, is the adult competition elsewhere?

I'd guess at wherever they hold practices for Nationals when its in Nashville.

Checking the Wikipedia list of sports venues in Nashville... The Nashville Municipal Auditorium had ice rink capabilities when it was built and was home to the minor league hockey teams that existed prior to the NHL Predators arrival in 1998. Capacity is about 9700 for basketball, so it would be a much better venue for an event like SkAm and the ISU Adult Competition, presuming the venue still has the ice-making capabilities, etc.
 
Ford Ice Center-Bellevue was the practice rink during Nationals. It has bleacher seating.
Nashvilles Municipal Auditorium is terribly outdated and does not have Olympic size ice. The Ice Shows don’t go there anymore.
So not Nashville. What’s next?🤷‍♀️

Well, they apparently had NHL size ice, which is the standard in North America and not an issue for ISU comps, as far as I'm aware. As far as the ice shows not going there anymore, well... Why should they when Bridgestone is available?

If Nashvilles outdated Municipal Auditorium is announced as the host site for Skate America on May 10 I’ll buy you lunch.!

I mean, this is the USFS, I wouldn't put it past them. But, I suppose Greensboro is more likely since they do love that venue too.

Let’s all think positive thoughts. I’m sitting here thinking about places in the south I’ve always wanted to visit. Charleston? New Orleans?

I think anywhere in Florida would be a spectacularly tone-deaf move, but I suppose that’s also possible

Florida isn't exactly a place where you'd hear y'all, at least in the major cities here :lol:

Nashville and TN in general may be a bit tone-deaf, too, though.
 
The problem with boycotting Nashville is that it’s a blue city whose state rep got expelled for favoring gun control. The state legislature and governor are social Neanderthals but they won’t suffer if Nashville gets boycotted, the city will.

It's literally right across the freeway from the outlets in a similar shopping center. Would be a great place for an event as I said before, but yeah...

As much as I would LOVE for a SKAM to be in NOLA, it is just not the right venue for so many reasons. There would be little to no local interest, and it's a hard, confusing city to most tourists. And, most obviously, no skating club or ice :lol:

Gulfport, MS or Mobile, AL would be better options if they wanted something in the Deep South besides Atlanta. The problem with having events in many Southern cities is the lack of walkability and public transportation. Though I guess if everyone survived Norwood, we can survive anything. If I ever go to SKAM in Norwood again, definitely renting a car.
