So anyone watching?

So every Team on this Race has a former Big Brother contestant, so essentially this is Big Brother plays The Amazing Race? On one hand, I don't like that. They just picked people from another CBS show. On the other, I have never watched Big Brother (other than the celebrity one that Mirai Nagasu was on) so I have no clue who any of these people are anyway, but I still don't like that they just picked all former Big Brother contestants. If there are already links and connections between these people, that will just lead to pre-set alliances or potential backstabbing and blocking of Teams that don't like each other, and I don't like when they do that on The Amazing Race.

That first task with the bowling on ice looked so fun! I totally want to do that! But only if I get to be the bowling ball.

But I don't like the way they did the Express Pass, just finish first at the bowling task and you get it. The Express Pass should be a hard decision you have to make in the middle of racing where you have to choose to go out of your way to go for it, and potentially blow your game by it taking too long, or someone else got there before you did, or you are trying to beat out another Team who is also going for it, all of which could throw you to the back of the pack due to the time it might take.

I especially did not like the awarding of another Express Pass where the winning Team just got to pick someone to get it! You should have to EARN that Express Pass!

OMG the Hazard for finishing last at the bowling task ..... I could have never choked down that herring! It made me gag just watching it! I detest fish and seafood of any kind. Yeah, I know people eat it ... but not me. Yuck!

Holy smokes the flower task! So many flowers that look so similar!! And then the roof closes?! How could they even see in the dark like that to distinguish the subtle color tones. Crazy hard and probably steaming hot. When they put up the pictures of the people who got something wrong, I couldn't even tell the difference on some of them.

It is Season 38 people ..... ask for clear directions and follow them! And thoroughly read the clue!

First thing I said when I saw it was all BB contestants was 'I already know this season is going to be annoying'.

Holy smokes the flower task! So many flowers that look so similar!! And then the roof closes?! How could they even see in the dark like that to distinguish the subtle color tones.

I get it's not something the producers control, but the first people had it so much easier. And the length of time to finish the task - doesn't the time they reach the mat affect the time they depart for the next leg? I found that kind of unfair.

I haven't watched BB in several years, so a lot of the contestants are unfamiliar to me. It's going to be a different dynamic for sure though.
I kind of like the European adventure angle to this season. After so many seasons it's fun to see them do something a little different.

Not thrilled with the Big Brother casting . Too many relationships to keep track of, for one thing, and too many references to BB I don't understand.

Not thrilled at the all-Europe season, but we will see how it goes.

I used to love The Amazing Race. I don't have cable anymore so I have to watch it in real time on CBS through the antenna. (I am only paying for a few streaming services and obvs one of them is The Cock) I missed the first episode and was hoping to catch it but I thought it was last night for some reason. I just realized I can watch it online.

Also, I am now obsessed with "Jet Lag-The Game" on Youtube. I have just ripped through most of those installments. My favorite ones are when they are playing tag on the trains in Europe.

I'm not a fan when they cast BB people or Youtube influencers among a cast of regular people, so imagine my reaction when Phil announced that every team had one BB alum in it. The European adventure sounds decent, certainly better than the family edition, but still kind of meh. Long distance travel is tough for the contestants but that's what makes The Amazing Race an amazing race. I'll watch anyway because why not. I did enjoy the luge bowling task. I'd love to try it. The cheese task made me want Edam cheese so bad.
There isn't a team I love or hate as of right now. No predictions either. Maybe in an episode or two.

I am also meh over the casting decision this time. Shook my head over the decision to give the fast forward to that particular team; one of them is a BB winner, isn’t he? I also enjoyed the luge bowling and would get a kick out of trying it!

I’m actually excited about the cast because I watch BB and really liked a few of the contestants. It also makes it easier for me to keep track of who’s who. I thought last year’s TAR cast was a snooze and lost interest quickly, so I’m hoping the people I like stick around for awhile. That does not include Jag. I got so tired of him winning every competition on BB and I do not want to see a repeat on TAR. Giving him the Express Pass was so dumb.

When I first heard about the casting, I thought it was just going to be a couple of BB couples and thought I could handle that. But when we found out that ALL of the competitors were from BB, my husband and I both said NO WAY! We've seen most seasons since S2 and almost didn't watch the Rob & Amber season for the same stunt-casting reason, but the ENTIRE CAST! Nope, not going there.

Yes I am not a fan of BB so was not happy to hear about the casting but since I have no idea who any of them are I am hoping to pretend they are regular folks and just enjoy the season. I love Europe so seeing so many European sites will be fun - maybe add something new to my list but wonder why they aren't doing the around the world race like normal.

Train drama is the new airport drama. :cheer2:

I don't know why anyone chose the memory task. Even before I saw how it played out, I chose the glass task. I have a pretty good memory and do okay with language things--normally. But they were all running on so little sleep.

OTOH, I would have died if I had had to do the plank walk, so it wouldn't have mattered.
